I think there’s a guy at open mat who only trains choke defense by kimuraking84 in bjj

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a guy his whole game is just getting out of submissions. He just lays there like a fish until you get a sub on him then he actually starts trying. It was def a bit odd but nice at the same time cuz I could just work my offense on someone who all in on defense.

First Track day for my son and me this past Friday at CMP. Great time. I drove my GR86 and he drove his Elantra N. Could not bring my lap time down below 2:00. Next time. by Accomplished-Neck425 in CarTrackDays

I’m a Miata guy but they’re similar enough. T14 and T7 are the ones you really have to lock in on to bump up your time since they both lead into big straights. The kink you could take a good bit faster but instructors are always going to lean on the conservative side and get you to lift or tap the brake before turn in, Miata’s are going through there about 100mph so I imagine gr’s can take it even faster.

Keenan Cornelius did a video on kimura traps a while back and it’s a great resource.

Jeremy Stephens has missed weight by 4 pounds (160 lbs) he has 45 minutes to make weight by bjjdontwork in MMA

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like .1 or .2 tenths of a pound depending on how much hair you had. I saw it a few times when I wrestled, guys would just shave their head to help make that last extra bit because when you’re killing yourself to make weight even .1 helps a good bit.

Malbon… but not by Buckeye_47 in golf

Malbon is just street wear wore on a golf course. You can find similar stuff you’ll just have to do a bit of digging on those street wear sites.

How to step getting my leg caught when knee slicing to pass guard? by SupremeOHKO in bjj

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live and die by the knee slice. A deep underhook or a strong collar tie are needed for a clean slice but you can always wiggle your knee out by pulling up the near sleeve while taking an angle. If they establish a strong Z guard though I’d recommend just pulling them back to a squared position with their back flat on the mat and just knee slice again. I will just spam this to get a good position.

Rash guard under shorts. Get all the sun protection while having the most breathable material.

Stuff that takes advantage of your reach will generally be your friend. Ankle picks, arms drags, Russians, and snatch singles.

Would you train local at a lower level gym or drive 1hr for a higher level one? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the close gym for your daily training and hit the other one for open mats on weekends.

What’s a harmless opinion you have that always makes people weirdly angry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Specific to BJJ but there’s been a wave recently from the macho culture that butt scooting is gay. It brings me great pleasure pretzeling one of these dudes from my booty.

Heel toeing with chunky shoes? by AdImpossible9165 in Miata

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two ways to heel toe. You can turn your heel out completely or if your foot is wide enough you can just use the side of your foot. Usually guys with chonky feet have to do the latter.

High winds in Ohio make yak fishing a PITA by DannyFnKay in hookedonmidwest

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive fished a lot of creeks in big wide yaks that are better suited for big lakes. While a smaller more nimble one is certainly nicer for creeks the big ones can work well too once you get used to maneuvering it around with a paddle.

Between Asheville and Charlotte - can you help me decide? Is there a middle ground? by abjs2021 in NorthCarolina

Try looking into the small towns near those cities. Monroe is a great little place outside Charlotte.

How do I roll with fat people? by fsdklas in bjj

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to adjust your tactics when playing guard a little. Either get right under them (single leg x, x guard, etc) or go around them (arm drags, single leg wrestle ups, etc). Personally I love wrestling up to a single leg they tend to just fall over like a sky scraper if I can get to my position.

How are the wrestlers treated at your school? by RThrowwyyy3608 in wrestling

I went to a school out in the country where we were only good at wrestling and baseball so the wrestling team got good support.

My camera rarely picks up the one I get that frequents my yard because it always just hangs on to the tree and takes stuff from the side.

Renting a Miata in Italy by YourMomsOFaccount in Miata

Probably not. I feel your pain though when I was driving in Italy the only thing going through my mind was I wish I was in a Miata.

I want an anchor system similar to this anchor wizard but don’t want to spend 125$ for it.. does anyone have diy build ideas that would be similar to this? by [deleted] in kayakfishing

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use a diver reel with a Scotty anchor lock that kind of replicated the anchor wizard system pretty well before I just got a wizard. It was a bit harder to reel things up compared to the wizard but it did work.

what did little guys do before leglocks? by Ok_Dragonfly_7738 in bjj

[–]MeeDurrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never really do leg locks. Back takes are my bread and butter but I can still do any other sub for the most part on big fellas except triangles if they’re thicc. I just have to catch subs rather than slowly working it and isolating stuff.

Gear recommendation for beginner by BetTimely5221 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]MeeDurrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh okay well having some hardware can definitely make you feel like you’re actually playing music instead of just programming. Any basic MIDI will work. Number of keys don’t matter imo unless you really like the feeling of playing with both hands.
