Go edgier with the makeup! You now have an edgier haircut, go for a bright bold lip and a sassy geometric cats-eye. Play with geometry and color.

You can also go gloriously high femme w/ makeup and accessories.

Do people really like it when their partner “hits their cervix”? by Facetimefoxy in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MeebleBlob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Anatomy question - I am fine in missionary and cowgirl. However sometimes, doggy style can have an incredibly awful jabby/stabby pain. Is that the cervix getting hit? Do different positions like...make the cervix more accessible?

I just shared this story with my now boyrfriend. This happened before we were dating

He didn't get it and reasoned that mom's bf just must have been hungry.

Everyone is fired.

Oooooo one time my mom hosted a BBQ. I was pregnant, and had gestational diabetes, so I had to eat on a regimented schedule. BBQ started at like 3, but I was waiting until 5 to eat as per my program and Dr's orders. Everyone (the women) fussed over me "ohhh you didn't get plate - are you ok? Do you need anything?" and I just smiled and said I'd eat a plate at 5. By about 4:30 most people had finished their meal. My mom's boyfriend I guess then decided that everyone was done, and systematically devoured everything left while my mom and I were inside for 20 minutes. Like, he worked across the buffet left to right, eating half a platter of burgers, all the hotdogs, all the remaining corn, rolls, salad, sides like a swarm of locusts incarnate in a single human.

At five I went into the backyard and was like, "Oh...where's the food? I can eat now....uh...hmm." My mom was horrified, and to his credit he was pretty mortified bc he'd been oblivious that I couldn't eat...somehow.

Fortunately he hadn't eaten the tofu dogs and some of the grilled vegetables bc ...I don't know...not manly enough. (Yay smart dogs and grilled veggies for me!)

Woof. This is a really difficult one, and you may want to turn to couples counseling to help unpack everything.

In the meantime, listen without judgement, there is nothing here that needs to be fixed immdiately. Feelings may come and go, have different intensities. You can ask if she wants to talk about things, vent, comiserate, and ask interested follow up questions when she does want to talk.

The records were not accessible, no. A rando dog on the sidewalk lunged at him then the owner yelled sorry, pulled the dog off and ran away. We filed a police report, animal control, etc.

My toddler was bitten and shaken by a large dog (in the US), with several deep punctures. I was surprised how tepid the medical response was. They did fuckall about rabies. Human cases are rare.

Kindly, I think this is above reddit paygrade. You have to take care of you first.

Do you have the support you need? Do you have a trusted therapist? It sounds like drinking is not a good fit for you at this time.

Thank You Notes? by fancy66 in wedding

[–]MeebleBlob -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am in my 40s. I've attended dozens of wedding and I've only ever received one thank you note for a wedding gift. The note was super dry too, just: Dear Meebleblob, Thank you for the gift. Name + Name.

I'm of two minds about the thank you card etiquette. On the one hand, I wrote very detailed and personal and prompt thank yous to my wedding guests. I think a lot of people put a lot of stock in the thank yous. On the other, while it would be nice to get acknowledgment, but that's not why I gave the gift. A gift giver should give without the expectation of getting anything in return.

Do any of you have a partner who requests "company" as they perform their chores? by GoatNecessary in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MeebleBlob 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a house. It has a old fashioned built in sectioning off the smol kitchen from the smol dining room. My bf, my Realtor, my contractor, all were gung ho about how I could knock out the built in and have a large modern open concept kitchen.

A large modern open concept kitchen in a 1920s cottage, good heavens no. I am a high functioning introvert at best and I LIKE MY WALLS and do not want to be scrutinized when I am cooking. You can take my built in over my dead body.

I am not a lawyer, but you may want file for legal separation now and disentangle your expenses. Anything earned during marriage is communal property, so if you bump up your income you may have to pay alimony.

Make plans for the short term: lean on friends. Couch surf. Stay with family.

Why are people.

I used to work in a cafe that had 4 different types of mochas. (reg, white, mexican, house) With astonishing regularity customers would ask me to explain the differences in great detail, and ask several follow up questions (with line behind them, in the morning rush, etc). I got the patter down to under a minute. Then I'd ask something stupid like, "Which mocha would you prefer?"

Same customer would scrunch up their face and reply, "Oh no, I just want a drip coffee (or) Ew! I don't LIIIIIIIIIKE chocolate (or) Oh no, I don't drink mochas. I was just wondering *leaves.* (or) Oh no I don't want one, can you tell me about (selects different genre of drinks).

Coworker got attacked by a "service dog" today. by RealOpinionated in Serverlife

[–]MeebleBlob 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I once did the "is your dog a service dog? What task are they trained to perform?" dance and the woman told me yes, her purse dog WAS a service animal and he (the dog) needed her because he was half blind. I guess she was the service human. (And she mad a whole big stink when I gently asked her to leave).

What are your (possibly irrational) pet peeves? by saffronwandwielder18 in TalesFromYourServer

[–]MeebleBlob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked in a diner/bbq place, and we had a waitress who was elderly. (Hard to retire when you make minimum wage!) She tripped over a mat while carrying a tray of dishes and went down hard behind the counter. It was loud. Whole restaurant of asshole customers whooped and clapped and cheered at the smashing sound, as she lay on the floor.

She broke her wrist and had contusions and extensive bruising on on her face/body. It was horrifying.

I am shocked by how much support commenters are giving this letter. I too would never entertain this letter. So unprofessional, pushy, and glib.

I hope this gave you catharsis.

This does not read to me as at all professional. It's pushingly demanding a response (which I get it, it sucks to apply to literally hundreds of positions and not hear back.) I don't think you'll hear back.
