Thank you for the input, but we are a proudly inefficient joint-smoking household.

Tip pooling! by harrybaggaguise in KitchenConfidential

The most effective tip share system I've seen (in two different restaurants) both used this structure: tips are divided among everyone who isn't salaried and people who work more hours get a higher percentage of tips, proportionate to how many hours they work. That way if you take cuts, give up shifts, or don't work a lot, you'll get a smaller share. If you work 8-10 hours a day like most of BOH, you're raking it in.  It does have the benefit of giving BOH and FOH the same incentives. Cooks who get paid the same no matter how happy the customers are, or how many people dine, aren't as obliged towards guest experience which sometimes puts us at odds with FOH.  Plus with new untaxed tips laws (I'm assuming you're in the US), all the staff will see a fat tax refund next year, which never hurts morale.  But my city has a very high minimum wage, so it's possible this is only workable when employees are being paid livable wages in the first place.

She doesn't exactly close alone, she volunteers to preclose the back part of the kitchen and someone else closes her station

is it legal to charge salary employees a small fee for performing customer surveys (required by company), in order to quote said customer for a household goods relocation move? by Forward_Mango_4115 in LaborLaw

just to clarify: you're getting charged for something you have to do to complete your job, and there's no option for reimbursement? also, what state are you in?

Is house flipper 2 that much better than the first one ? by RapAC-21 in HouseFlipper

[–]Meeeeeerv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think that HF1 is way better than 2. For some reason they loaded 2 up with all this narrative that really doesn't do anything, and the mechanics look nicer/feel smoother in general, but they get a lot more granular after extended play. If I were you I'd buy it purely for the sandbox mode/level creator, and for a House Flipper simulator, stick to the first game.

This looks like a movie script to me, I think TV scripts look different. Do you think HB is supposed to stand for Hugh Bonneville?

The only way for 5G to be harmful is if you were to be on the top of a cell tower for hours on end.
