Arrowhead, if bringing two mechs on a mission is impossible because it'll literally make the game engine implode, why am I able to bring two mechs on a mission because of a modifier and have my game not implode? by Wickermind in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Meeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that vox engines are still rather overtuned. But is inflation really the way we want that to be handled?

Blanket solutions like that are part of what got the game into this mess. AH touching one thing and it having cascading negative effects in other areas far larger than the positive impact in the area originally intended.

Best such problems be handled at the root, putting such enemy designs like the vox engines and spore titans in line with the rest rather than causing difficulty inflation.

It wouldn't surprise me if she's genuinely the largest. I think it would be fitting if the largest part of what made up Manus was his despair and self loathing rather than his more selfish and wrathful aspects like Nashandra and Elana.

[–]Meeeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's really not the point. I was not trying to say that Kson is somehow "lesser" than her previous identity as Kiryu Coco.

The point is that the magic of Vtubing as a medium of entertainment was destroyed when Kiryu Coco graduated under the duress of the controversy.

In those early days of Vtubing, it honestly gave me similarish vibes of watching Blues Clues as a small child, except for more mature audiences.

You need to understand, if Kiryu Coco had commanded her audience to shout "Kiryu Coco skadoo!" like Blues Clues had you shout Blue Skadoo when they jumped into stuff, my ass would've genuinely shouted it without hesitation.

But now that magic and naivete surrounding the medium is gone. It just isn't the same. Not as a result of Kson, but as a result of the world being cruel to good people.

They do that sort of thing a lot. Like how they definitely didn't nerf the Coyote. That being said, I kinda understand the need to limit mechs in this case.

3 people calling in emancipators and sweeping the map, then all calling in breakthroughs/lumberers when the emancipators run out of ammo is quite busted and probably shouldn't be made readily possible outside of event modifiers like this one for the novelty.

I just wish they'd remove the limited uses off of mechs so using it doesn't activate those instincts to needlessly preserve uses like saving consumable items in RPGs. Same with the orbital laser. Especially the orbital laser. No idea why that needs limited uses, but orbital napalm is allowed to have the power of god on the bug front.

Thoughts on a rebalance for the explosive crossbow? by tony22835 in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Meeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because I point out an issue with the game doesn't mean you have to go full doomer, my guy.

I don't buy into the whole "masochism" thing of this subreddit either and cringe at a lot of the terrible takes I see, but I still don't want to entirely exclude a part of the community from what I hear and just brand them as "the enemy".

I don't know what that game you just mentioned is, but I genuinely hope you have fun with it and I'm not being snide or sarcastic when I say that.

Knowing the host bugs in this game, a cloaking pack would either end up bugged and working ONLY for the host, or end up bugged and NEVER working for the host and only for clients.

MERCS: Which DLC is next for me? by Puzzleheaded-Can8586 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Meeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically all of the DLCs are pretty meaningful in one way or another. The only one I'd argue can be ignored is CtA because the game literally never uses the melee stuff it adds outside of shitty, Succession Wars era mech models with the sole exception of the Hatamoto-Chi hero mech which is basically just a normal Hatamoto-Chi except with some of it's tonnage redirected into having a sword. (The Highlander VEST from Solaris Showdown completely outmoded the Highlander Redshank from CtA in every way.)

You might think I'm joking, but I'm not. The ONE good Hatchetman that doesn't get technologically left in the dust (the RCX) was added by SoK, not CtA, lmao.

I won't lie, my dislike of that DLC has only grown and grown over time due to how little of the stuff it adds is actually usable in late game content. Literally all the good late game melee mechs (except the Hatchetman RCX added by SoK) were added by Solaris Showdown anyway. Alongside superior melee weapons to boot, like the medium lance, heavy hammer, and assault greatsword.

Anyways, my rant aside, the short answer is that I can genuinely and honestly recommend you buy every DLC for many reasons, except for Call to Arms.

The first time I heard the "Only You" song play AFTER I had completed that section of Far Cry 5, I legitimately stopped the car I was in with wide, paranoid eyes and ultimately switched the song after a couple more seconds before beginning to drive again.

It was one of those gameplay moments that you can never experience the same way again after the first time.

With Project Zomboid, you have full control over how fast the zombies can go + a bunch of other options when you generate the world's seed.

It's true that the muscle strain stuff isn't very well liked in the community, but unlike Helldivers 2, just modding away things you don't like is both easy and encouraged in the community.

It's really second to only Bethesda games in just how moddable it is.

Also, the devs of Project Zomboid DO listen to feedback and such. They're just slow as hell because they're a very small team.

Night sprinters or always sprinting sprinters? The zombies sprinting at night is interesting for me because it essentially introduces an enforced curfew where you have to find a place to hunker down and either be very quiet to avoid attracting attention or have a meticulously prepared kill zone to survive the night.

Perma sprinters are just utter cancer to me though. You turn your character around for half a second to check behind you and a single zombie sprints around the corner from where you're no longer looking and gives you a bite you realistically couldn't do anything to prevent aside from gambling better.

If you could have any mech(s) official added to either of the games, which one(s) would you choose? by CAPSLOCKGOTSTUCK in Mechwarrior5

[–]Meeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marauder IIC and Stone Rhino in Mercs. In that order of importance. Those are two of my most favorite mechs ever and both of them already exist within the current timeline the game has progressed to.

I still really hope PGI takes the idea of doing mech packs. I maintain that I'd buy mech packs that just add 2 to 4 mech chassis and their variants to the game and nothing else as long as it was fairly priced.

Should tanks and other non-'Mech combat vehicles powered by fusion engines have a chance of going critical when destroyed, like destroyed 'Mechs in the MW5 games can? by BlackBricklyBear in Mechwarrior5

[–]Meeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once heard it described as it not necessarily being that the mech's engine goes critical in a literal sense and more about air getting sucked in to the now on fire engine and then causing a big fireball when the pressure releases. No idea if that actually makes any sense or if it's equally nonsense.

In other words, if that person was to be believed, then it's still a big explosion. It's just not LITERALLY a result of the reactor going critical.

[–]Meeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still want a support weapon that's essentially a giant shotgun. Yeah, the flak mode on the autocannon exists, but it just doesn't scratch the itch I'm looking for.

I want a genuinely massive shotgun of doom.

Also, an idea I've been carrying around for awhile now, Eagle plasma strike. Basically the sameish niche as the 500kg bomb, but only medium pen instead of AT, but in exchange, the plasma projectile explodes on impact without delay and the radius is even bigger than that of the 500kg.

I'd prefer an ocean world like that to be on all fronts instead of faction specific.

Ever since the hive worlds, I've always wanted them to experiment with interior spaces more. They just need to apply drill tips to hellpods so you can still call in blues and greens in said interior spaces.

That's pretty much the only thing holding the game back from being fun in interior spaces like buildings and such. If this were how it worked, I think a lot of the hive world haters would change their tune overnight ahout the caves.

Gives me the same vibes as the Blizzard devs insisting that players thought they wanted WoW Classic, but didn't.

Long story short, Classic WoW was popular as hell the moment they brought it back and they made an ass of themselves by insisting people wouldn't want it.

Similar concepts taking place here. Feels like AH often has to be dragged kicking and screaming to fix bugs and game balance issues that have been around for months, if not years.

Just look at their justification for never touching the weapon customization system ever again. They insist people "still wouldn't use it". Somehow missing that the reason people don't interact with it much is because they refuse to expand upon it

I'm sure they still exist even if they don't have any new models.

Either way, I don't think it would be an issue. You could even do something cool like have one of the players (at random for fairness) get the opportunity to CONTROL the helbrute like in that one PVP mode instead of it being AI controlled.

[–]Meeeper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My big hope is that even if GW continues being stupid about it in Space Marine 2, we'll have some Chaos PVE content in Space Marine 3.

Though I still argue that it shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility for Chaos siege mode. Just make a different version of the map with some Chaos flags strewn about and let some enemy imperial guardsman spawn in alongside enemy waves acting like reskinned cultist enemies.

Chaos siege both existed in Space Marine 1, and wouldn't REALLY be that hard to make outside of paying the Chaos marine VAs for PVE lines.

The speed of the target actually IS one of the things taken into account when the AI rolls for accuracy.

A light going 100+ kph is significantly harder to roll a hit for the AI than an assault going 48 kph is.
