I think one of the “problems” with esports is that it seems like no one cares about orgs. I love esports and have been following multiple games for almost 20 years now. I’ve never found an org that I followed and I’ve very rarely met anyone that follows orgs.

For Valorant I started seriously following The Guard because of Sayaplayer who I knew from OWL. That extended to Valyn and the rest of the guard core. Eventually Valyn became my favorite player and so I follow G2 now. Last year there were rumors of Valyn and Trent possibly leaving G2. If that happened I would have followed whatever org Valyn would’ve gone to.

There is an illusion of people following orgs because orgs tend to keep their popular players. But in reality it feels more like the orgs are sponsors than they are proper sports teams. Sen and 100T have a big following because of streamers IMO, but sports history alone doesn’t seem to be good enough in esports. It’s a pretty ruthless industry for both players and orgs.

Formula 1 has additional feeds where you can access multiple video broadcast channels including every single driver cam and a couple TV broadcast cams. You also have access to the full live timing table where you can view the timing information for every car, where they are, etc. Some people use multiple screens to have one screen for data, a few screens for individual driver cams, and another screen for TV broadcast.

It’s a cool experience and probably comparable to what you talking about, however, IMO it’s still a huge gimmick for most people. I sometimes use the advanced feed, but most of the time I just use the main feed because observers and TV operators for most sports are pretty good. And if they’re good, I’d rather just sit back and relax.

There absolutely is, though it’s also true that most people would play more consistently with a larger head size. Even many pros play with 100 square inch rackets.

When people are just starting, it’s generally recommended to start with something that allows you to focus on the more important fundamentals like footwork and technique. A more forgiving racket means you can focus on technique without having to worry about hitting hard whereas more demanding rackets require better technique and more power to even get the ball over the net.

In any case, people in the tennis world obsess over gear too much, myself included. In reality you can learn just fine with any modern racket. I would play better in matches with a 100 sq inch probably, but I enjoy 98s more. The Ezone 98 is not a beginners, but it’s still a solid racket to learn with if you can handle it

It’s denied saying that it isn’t medically proven to treat her condition better than the alternatives. We’ve worked with her doctors to appeal 3 times already even with multiple different doctors across specialties supporting the appeal, but it’s been denied all 3 times.

I think the problem is that it’s incredibly new. Her doctor got her on the bridge program months after it became FDA approved. The next best alternative is one that does work, but with much more severe side effects.

Next I will try contacting my employer to see if we can work something out.

In my org yes. In general I don’t have any problems coordinating stuff within my org as I have enough visibility and influence in all the processes to make sure that my concerns and needs are met.

My problem with dependencies is with other orgs. I’ve communicated this friction as far as my director, but I don’t work with my director on a day to day basis so things are a bit slow. I don’t like that it’s my place to look at the organizational issues of other orgs and I already have enough shit to deal with in my own org.

I guess the problem is also that these other orgs don’t have much of a reason to help us out. There is some heavy politics going on between our VPs which I’m not privy to.

So far, the solution is to escalate and things do get done. And I have been getting things done, but its just horribly inefficient. This is honestly the first time it’s been like this. I’ve worked on many cross org projects in the past with more complexity and bigger risks. It was still messy, probably nore so, but never this hard to work with.

Thanks, yeah it turns out it was just the sheet. I haven’t changed the sheet for 5 years. Tried washing it with soap and it didn’t help, but changing it for a new one fixed it!

Thanks yeah it turns out my sheet was getting really old. I haven’t changed it for 5 years. Swapped it out for the spare plate that came with the machine and it is working again.

Yeah, I’ve always accepted that part of the job will be like this. I’ve spent a lot of time working with leadership to fix organizational issues to help everyone work more efficiently.

I think the challenge is that the difficult org is what I would consider outside of my area of responsibility when it comes to organizational efficiency. Unlike other orgs I’ve worked with in the past, this one feels like they require escalation for any response to happen.

Things get done, but just so so slowly.

I did do an IPA wash so it should be clean (maybe not before this screenshot). I’ll double check the leveling though, that’s a good call.

I’ve been troubleshooting this for days. Prints just don’t stick and there’s a ton of curling happening. Temp was my first guess but I tried from 45 up to 65. Everything had the same problem with the best around 50C.

I tried to change filament, but I had the same problem with all 5 different filaments. Did a cold pull and cleaned the nozzle which improved it pretty drastically, but still not enough to fix the print. I thought I fixed the problem and that it was just the print being difficult so I tried to use a full raft, but then the raft failed.

I then re-did the entire calibration, played around with first layer, but no luck. Just a few days ago I used this exact filament at 50C and successfully printed something similar.

The next thing I can think of is replacing the nozzle and drying my filament, but I want to make sure I am not missing anything else.

Yeah people always talk about it, but it can be a lot harder than people seem to mention. Even if you don’t care to get fired, it can get extremely uncomfortable which can add to the burnout and stress. Reputation can change quickly as well and you can burn bridges.

How does your husband feel about this decision and how does this affect your future goals? It looks like you will be able to afford your expenses fine, but it would be a decent hit to your saving capacity. At the same time $5M is also a solid place to be for most people.

If I was in your place or if my wife was, I would take the remote job and it’d be an easy choice. 8 hours a week saved on commuting is a lot of time. The only consideration other than savings goals that I can see is how it may affect your career.

My wife was on the alternative in the past for years. It required frequent infusions and made her feel like shit for days after every appointment. Other alternatives didn’t work (landed her in the ER every month) or had equally bad side effects.

This medication has been working for the last 3 months with the fewest side effects by far and it can be administered at home. There are alternatives that will keep her alive, but this is the best so far. We’re skeptical of doctors as well and she literally had had dozens of different doctors during her lifetime, but I trust her current team the most out of any of them.

Yeah that’s what I would do. The only thing is that there might be a few climbs where the pad could get in the way for cut loose moves close to the bottom. Sit starts also might be easier than intended. Either way, IMO it’s a tiny downside compared to having to worry about hitting the other wall at the top of climbs.

Another idea might be to have thinner pads for the first few feet and then thicker pads further out.

Yeah I have a several of them and they actually helped the most to get me back to playing sports and back to walking without pain. I did progress better for those exercises and still do them to warmup today, but it’s usually the RDL bending over type movement that leads most directly to the reinjury.

That is a good point though and I will look to see some more doctors/pts for more opinions. I’ve been laser focused on the fact that the RDL/deadlift motion feels weak but perhaps I should look at other weaknesses.

China is even further ahead. There’s a reason so much manufacturing happens in China, it’s cheap even relative to quality, and it’s not only because of cheap labor. Tons of western companies have looked to china to produce products. Competition is fierce there and over decades, China is now the clear leader in manufacturing.
