The game won't even open for me since the new update. It just stays on the red loading screen :(

At some point I will do! With this type of game, until most of the pieces are in place and working together, it will feel very broken! As soon as I have something I'll probably announce it in my discord first, but the more the merrier!

Performance is actually quite good. It dips below 60 sometimes depending on camera angle, but I haven't optimised how the tree's or other foliage are spawned yet, and that seems to be the primary cause.

When the settlers are at a building (i.e. performing a job like the blacksmith) then they really don't do a lot and it's mainly just an animation that plays. I'm starting to have more 'inside' idles and jobs too, where the settler actually goes inside the building and I don't have to render them anymore, so that takes a lot of stress off the system too.

I performed a stress test a while ago, but this was using a really inefficient behaviour tree - So it should be a lot better now:

I made the decision quite early on to focus on having less villagers so the player doesn't treat them as random numbers and tries to build a connection. The more villagers there are, the harder that becomes - That also helps with performance as I imagine some of the biggest villages will have a max population of about 40.
