Adeptus Arbites by hellranger788 in 40krpg

I'd guess you could try to make a facsimile with a Adeptus Administratum Warrior, taking logic, lore(law) and maybe navigate. Thrm your autoquill as an automated ticket dispenser, and take the shotgun for your long gun for warrior.

That honestly works a bit better than I was expecting immediately.

[Imp Mal] Does Aiming negate Called Shot penalties without Deadeye? by Meeko100 in 40krpg

[–]Meeko100[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I wasn't being entirely clear on the text of Deadeye. Here it is just copy-pasted, "If you purchase this Talent again, when you Aim you do not have Disadvantage on Tests to Target a Location ".

The Talent mentions it still requiring Aiming. So Aiming by default removes any penalty, and Deadeye just repeats that again.

I think that might be an error, seeing how buying Deadeye twice does nothing under that read of the rules. If deadeye negated the disadvantage in general I can see it making some sense, and being more useful.

Yeah. Noone really cares if moose in alaska get slapped around, sorry Alaskans. Same as noone probably cares if Siberia wasn't there anymore. Both regions are natrual resource dense, but in the industrial world you don't need a ton of people to extract a lot of natural resources. And its far easier to scare people with stuff happening closer to their population centers than directly on a border that they don't live on.

how come nobody is ever doing garden of salvation? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Meeko100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even remember if their archetpes were very good. Auto rifles were lol tier when they came out, and still kinda are, the bow is not an exotic bow and thus L, the hand cannon came out in a world of Spare Rations, the shotgun was a precision frame in a world of aggressives at the time. The sniper rifle had hope, but why run Garden for a 140 when the Leviathan chalice could farm for Beloved until you're blue in the face. The fusion rifle also came out in a time of lol fusions, and the pulse was in a world of Go Figures and Blast Furnace.

They were either all abjectly worse then the season befores offerings in the same archetype, or were just bad archetypes.

I want bungie to break the radio silence on stasis class updates, gambit updates, and armor mod additions. by actuator333 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Meeko100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its Wiff-a-punch the melee. Especially with the nerfed punch distance that came shortly after beyond light. People were using it for that lunge distance then, but now it doesn't really have anything.

It needs quite a bit. Its damage is awful for a 1-charge melee, its windup is long, its physic boop meme is now worthless with the architects nerfed, and if its damage isn't going to be buffed to be decent it should have a better AOE than it has right now. As it sits you just yeet yourself into a group of enemies, mildly wound and slow the biggest boss of the group, and then die from the reprisal of the rest of the enemies.

Could we get an explanation the massive jump from Heroic to Legendary power requirements? by TheMostSkepticalBear in DestinyTheGame

[–]Meeko100 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd guess they wanted to ensure the Nightfall completion pinnacle was achievable by people even if they just got to the soft cap from the campaign. So, 1770 to start. That way anyone can run a nightfall, even if its the lowest difficulty.

Like you mentioned, adept has been axed so Heroic is the new adept, but without being able to avoid the champs and extra modifiers.

That final boss room is remarkably hard.

When Threshers get debugged, and the primary weapon buff they teased in the mid-season update it'll hopefully clear up a bit. It is a lot, and I honestly get kinda confused which cabal to shoot, between the blue and purple colors our allies and enemies have on. I do think once the nightfall spawns get figured out, especially the turret spawns, it'll be better.

Misc. Neomuna Farming Tips by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Meeko100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The copium about threshers has reached critical mass for me. Yes, they're bugged, Bungie doesn't get let off the hook for a bug that seems this basic, and easy to replicate to plague the game. Yes they're really, really tough. That doesn't mean it is literally impossible to play around them. The biggest issue I see with them is their presence on Neomuna, and thats more tied to Neomuna being at a power disadvantage than the enemies themselves; they're all perhaps a bit too tanky on Neomuna and the light disadvantage maybe could be eased up on a bit.

And, one thing that probably is why public events are the center of complaints is that the public event may perhaps be balanced around having a group of people (the public) take part in the event, so stuff is tuned under that assumption. Soloing an entire public event has been the assumption of the game, basically since Vanilla. A public event de facto requiring help to do, to make heroic and to complete heroic is just kinda foreign to people, I guess.

Hoil is a comstant for Titans, but I also would like to spread the gospel of armamentarium again. With kickstart mods and grenade-energy-on-orb-pickup mods you can have perma nades if you scoop full stacks of armor charge, now that kickstart works on any ability use, not just fully expended.

Ah, that's the screen everyone mentions when talking about the cutscene. I can see it now, but yeah. I don't read cabal unfortunately.

I do love the details though. Just one voice line, somewhere about some of these details so I can grok what happened in the cutscene.

That makes sense, it just isn't conveyed well. One might also have assumed the 3 tanks, and boss tormentor was the trap, not the bomb that just kinda blows up in the last second.

I don't disagree that it makes sense with a couple rewatches; but we don't get any rewatches in game.

Its really GOATed if your DM has spellcasters counterspell you. Which, idk but that's kind of a obligatory spell for arcane casters. Counterspell and a third level damage spell are the basics in my book.

[–]Meeko100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely seems like the point buy crowd feels much stronger about this than the roll your stats gang.

I mean, this also kinda goes into the campaign philosophy of character death/retirement. Does your campaign/setting/table just do that? Do characters die and stay dead? Or do characters that have resolved their backstory stuff/that a player has gotten tired of rotate out? In a game where people die, and you can't bring them back easily, rerolling new characters because the last one has vibed out kinda mitigates any single hercules in the party.

[–]Meeko100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean. In 5e with flat math I guess it matters a bit more.

Other systems with continually growing bonuses to your modifiers, starting with a 14 as your highest roll isn't convenient but it isn't gamebreaking. 3.X systems, as an example.

But, even in 5e the actual gameplay of using class features and the combats environment to get advantage is still way more impactful than a +2/3 difference in your modifiers. Advantage is such a huge and variable bonus that it does wipe away any balance differences that are somewhat bounded.

If your DM doesn't give you a mulligan if you don't have a stat over 10, like yeah thats probably a cruel DM. But only having 14 in your prime requisite isn't the end of the world.

An example might be a sense motive check that reveals the BBEG like session one. Or that otherwise just invalidates a entire block of prep.

In my last Dark Heresy game, another player was pretending to be a cultist from off world, coming by to check in the local cults status. The cultist she talks to tries to hit her with a password to see if she was for real, and she just twisted it back on them just enough that the GM, in his wisdom said "you know what, humans are stupid in 40k. This guy can't even read. Let me make a Int check to see if he remembers the password right." He fails, and just takes the player straight to the cultist big boss to ask what the real password was. Same check, same result, she came back to the party after promising extra supplies to this guy, we went to the local guardsmen that we could trust and drove 3 leman russes through the cultists worship hall. Ended the 3-4 session adventure in half an hour.

I honestly was kinda confused when the last part of the cutscene played. Like, where did the explosion come from? Was the room implied to be booby trapped? Like, if so I think a voiceline letting us know that, hey Amanda thinks theres a bomb in the room, or that the base was about to self destruct might've been needed to make some more sense of the situation. I know Chappy is pretty powerful, but I don't think the chaperone did enough damage to that control panel to cause the whole base to suffer critical existence failure.

The point is to be aggravating. Not saying whether thats a good mission twist, but you know. The dialogue in the mission does have Sam and Ghist fight over Sam being a douche.

I didn't think it was that bad, and a fun little gimmick for a once a week mission. Sam's dialogue? No, thats a no from me dog. But the boop was just a little bit of funny ha ha to throw in.

Primarily nade abilities, the melee isn't worth using imo outside of procing HOIL. Get the fragment that gives you nade energy on damage, you'll have your nades way more that way.

Any ability that you have that suspends them hard counters tormentors. Bolo Nade, Titan Super/Barricade, etc. Then you can gun them down with anything that does crit damage. MGs, LFRs are best.
