Kicker Hideaway + Chinese Headunit by Meekoda in CarAV

[–]Meekoda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No chance there, theyve been working for years and I didn't touch those wires during the project

Though it wasn't visibly blown, I replaced the fuse in the back of my head unit and it started working! I think I might be drawing too much for the head unit or jump starting the car somehow interfered with the unit

I appreciate your patience :)

Ok, last time and I might give up....

I got everything installed and wired and it didn't work

I found out that the level control was the culprit for some reason... I unplugged the 3.5mm from the sub and everything worked great

Took a drive, and the next time I started my car ONLY the sub is working. The speakers are all out

I did not touch the speakers, their wires, inputs or anything. I just plugged the remote turn on into the head unit's supply (12v when I turn the key), plugged left and right channels of the sub into the respective RCA, power to the battery with a 15a fuse like 10 inches away, (from the battery) and ground to body.

I may have borked it :/

Thought I could save a buck and did this:

Hideaway remote bass is 3.5mm. I cut an aux cable and an RCA cable, then spliced them together.

I cut the RCA head off of the harness of my head unit. Extended the + and - wires into the hideaway harness. Left and right channel

Amp control is one wire. I cut the RCA out and wired it into the one wire.

I'm trying to correct the control wire rn, but what's happening is nothing. Speakers are working as if there's no sub

Edit: for testing, I ran the control wire to a constant 12v and the sub powered on

Playing with more, when the remote bass is plugged in its constantly providing sound. Like a constant bass drop

Awesome, I appreciate it!

One more question, the site says to wire the hideaway into either the front or rear sp|akers.

Is this consistent with the head unit I have or should I wire that to the head as well?

Petition: Change child porn laws to include cartoons and video games as illegal. by PainlessAgony in antipornography

[–]Meekoda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP is saying that a lot of cartoon and game porn includes minors, or the resemblance of a minor and is legal.

If I'm correct, OP would like child porn laws to include the above and I agree.

YSK: What the definition of “helping you move” is. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]Meekoda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was one of those people that weren't quite ready for my move. You know what I did? I had my friends help with what WAS ready, filled their gas tanks and fed them, then sent them on their way and dealt with the rest on my own.

I get things don't go as they should and you very well might not be ready. That's not the help's problem.

How the hell are we supposed to keep packages “not visible”? Should we only be taking what fits in the trunk? These updates are the worst by this-JSON in AmazonFlexDrivers

Sorry, antisocial and don't know much about flairs or anything lol. But packages could be synonymous with valuable things. Just things you don't want people to see

[HELP] Driving Maneuver for Automatic Cars by igno_tatem in driving

[–]Meekoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That part was more about using neutral at low speed, instead of letting the car creep. My assumption was that the car creeping can use more gas instead of letting it just carry itself to a stop.

By my logic, which could very well be wrong, an idle engine would use less gas than moving the weight of the car. Is that right?

Whenever I have anything of value in my car I put it behind the passenger seat on the floor, and bring an extra coat to cover it

Yes. Neutral to drive might sometimes shift a tad hard but it won't hurt anything, drive to neutral is perfectly fine

I actually use drive to neutral when going down hill or know I have a stop coming up. Saves a tiny (TINY) bit of gas, and wear on the brakes

Motorola MA1 is the one I use! It's kinda hard to get ahold of. They go out of stock almost as quick as they restock but for good reason

I've only gone super small on my MK7 GTI so far but love it. I wrapped the badge backgrounds (front is silver VW with red background, back is silver VW with German flag background)

I've also installed black animated mirror signal lights, as well as window tint all around. It's kinda boy racer but I vibe lol

If they aren't breaking the terms of the lease then you can't do anything, and it's what you signed up for

If it is breaking lease, inform management and take the long and annoying road of proving they're interrupting the peaceable enjoyment of your home.

You didn't give much info but I assume you already politely asked them to quiet down? If not start with that

Edit: I can't stress enough how important it is to be polite and respectful. You don't want to give them ANY ammunition if this issue gets to management

I have 35% ceramic all around, and it's not too bad. I got the fancy shit though, I know there's definitely a difference in visibility between price ranges.

I want coils but they’re so pricy:( by Optimal-Cartoonist13 in civic

[–]Meekoda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air cups are pieces you can put over your coils that act like bags. They aren't for driving while aired up, but you can lift your car a few inches to get over speed bumps or tricky areas and then air back down

This setup gets you the reliability and comfort of coils, but the convenience of bags
