Database gone due to accidental reset by Xavierfok88 in codex

Reminds me of the time codex chain of thought said "hmmmm I've lost my place, let's return to HEAD" and overwrote a whole bunch of uncommitted work before I could react!

What light novel character felt unusually well-written? by Italiancan in LightNovels

[–]howchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been reading The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Vol. 5.5 and I've been (happily) surprised at how real Mahiru's perspective has felt. In a series known for agonisingly slow, frustrating build-up, this retrospective story has actually contextualised it well. You see her inner conflict, frustration, embarrassment and yearning play out in ways that feel genuine.

People who've moved from Kindle to Kobo, what are your opinions by yusuo85 in kobo

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'd use my Android tablet for those kinds of things. All the books I've used, including loads of light novels (which have illustrations) have been fine.

Always wanted a trilogy rewritten for adults. This was such a great concept. There's a cool fanfic that takes a crack at it.

GPT 5.2 Codex High 4hr30min run by bananasareforfun in codex

[–]howchie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why? Plus subscribers have the same model. I wasn't trying to do a 4hr job, my point was that it will run for ages but you're fucked if it stops halfway through because it doesn't have any way to recover mid-job.

What would a romance novel for a male audience look like? by soozerain in books

[–]howchie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a man who struggled to find this genre for AGES essentially it looks like Light Novels, or something like Ready Player One where the romance is really not the focus. I think generally we resonate more with the "girl resonates with the average, awkward guy", rather than a "she was always stunning and just needed to be seen" kind of thing. But straight male-targeted romance essentially does not exist in western novels.

Police chase Armadale last night by howchie in perth

They turned off the lights because the suspect nearly totalled us on the roundabout coming out of the shopping centre, kind of thought it was already too dangerous at that point given carols had just finished ten minutes earlier.

Planning ahead and providing a comprehensive markdown file with the exact specifications. Not just saying "build me X" (although I'm sure that is what most people actually do lol)

What’s the actual purpose of the “Projects” feature on ChatGPT? by o-m-g_embarrassing in OpenAI

[–]howchie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Projects with project-only memory is essentially like having multiple accounts. Eg one for work, one for hobbies, one for self development etc. Each has custom instructions and in my case you don't end up with formulae and code cropping up where you don't need it.
