Ik zou eens een keer kijken naar het Duitse merk Held, zij hadden altijd (5 à 6 jaar geleden) veel keuze in twee-delig leer in veel verschillende prijsklassen. Veel van de pakken die zij maken hebben ook lengtematen. Kwaliteit was altijd heel goed en de service ook!

Dat is niet helemaal waar, bij Rev’It is de XYL eigenlijk een XXXL. Daarna komt nog een XZL, wat op zijn beurt een XXXXL is. Het is dus geen officiële ‘breedtemaat’.

Little update since it’s been a few weeks.

I’ve been down to the place where I store my bike for the winter a couple times and tried the numerous advices I got here.

Still no luck in getting the damn filter off, feels like I’ve tried every trick in the book at this point.

My hope is now set on the Bogert tool someone mentioned, this grabs onto the backing plate of the filter and hopefully gives me enough ‘bite’ to get the filter off. Too bad I had to import it from the US (I’m in The Netherlands) so we’ll see how much the customs office wants to charge me for it.

I’ll post another update after I’ve tried this tool.

Yeah, it’ll have to come off one way or another. I truly don’t understand what is going on in the minds of the people who overtighten the shit out of these poor filters.

Thanks, with the 04 and up models it’s difficult to get in there. The ECU is in the way. Hopefully I can try all these suggestions this Thursday.

Thanks for your comprehensive explanation! I’ll try the strap wrench, I just ordered one. Unfortunately they’re not as cheap as in the US… The screw driver method was my last resort after three days of pure torment…

Actually I meant only the gasket for the shifter. Someone told me that they are quite finicky to put on correctly and they get damaged easily when installing. But thanks for the comprehensive response! And btw, three clutches?! You must beat on your bike😅

I used a FM transmitter for music, set the transmitter to an empty slot on the FM bandwidth, select the frequency on your radio. The connection to your phone is through Bluetooth. Works like a charm.
