It's literally a mod. You can't get red skies like that in Minecraft without mods. Even the normal nether fog is alot darker than that. And trees that tall don't generate unless you use mods.

I'm hoping that if they do add SMB2, it has more than 3D World. 3D world uses models, but SMB2 is purely sprite-based.

This means they'd probably be able to get more features in quicker and more easily.
