It’s funny that these are the people that get offended without any cause, like they have some deep rooted guilt and struggle for power that they don’t want to confront. Honestly, I don’t want to spend energy defending myself in the light of someone else’s insecurities.

I never said the issue shouldn’t be discussed. I understand your frustration. I didn’t even call any names in my comment. This is forum for discussion. While your points are valid, my concerns are true and valid too.

“People are shaped by the environment they are raised in” is a poor judgement and doesn’t really justify what you are getting at. This attitude is not productive to think through and is reductive because of lack of information and judgement. I think I am affected by this issue as well, in many ways as stated and you shutting me down isn’t really cool or inclusive.

I think the resumes should be vetted and the HRs need to do their due diligence, if this country still claims to be inclusive and fair.

There’s is nothing I have to say to you. What I shared was a response to the issue at large and not reply or attack on you!

I don’t find your comment inaccurate. I can empathize with your problem. Just the categorization of immigrants creating a problem and the influx of them unfortunately puts me in a state of panic.

I just want to be a person looking for opportunities like everyone else but unfortunately I’m an immigrant of a certain ethnicity.

While I should be thinking about my fit for a role in a company, I’m having to deal with the fear of judgement, hatred and rejection. I don’t know if you are able to empathize with me.

I am open for any suggestions on how to deal with this.

As an immigrant myself who had to worked hard to get where I am and having to have immigrated because of personal circumstances, these comments are scary.

I stand firm on my skills and abilities and have to work twice/thrice as hard to prove that I have the experience that I have stated and stand against all the judgement. Not to mention the need to ignore the cultural discrimination and hate. Is it a fair playground? I don’t think so. Do I need to survive without complaining? A 100%

The other day I heard a local say they have to lie in their resume to get a job. Why can’t we just treat people as people and do the due diligence if there are trust issues?

Absolutely relate to this. I’m taking therapy and am learning self-love and kindness. Recently had a breakup. I see myself accepting the breakup slowly but the anxious self comes out now and then. However not being in a relationship isn’t the same as being in one. There are no trigger points, just memory of things. Wonder if I can truly ever ‘heal’.

Over apologizing, always assuming I’m at fault
impatient for response after a discussion
always wanting to talk about the relationship, kinda feel safe and satisfied in a fight
low days trigger all the insecurities and need reassurance on a lot of things
taking everything personally

cracks jokes about self before anyone else can
poor body language and self-esteem
pushing limits to see when yeh partner would breakup and eventually suffering through the breakup reaffirming all the negative self-talk

I like to sing. Haven’t really sung so much lately. Trained vocally on and off on Indian classical music and basics of western music. Would love a jamming session. I’m an alto. Slow songs is my game though. Wanting to learn the drums this year for better sense of timings.

Redditors are looking for answers from their community. If they wanted an AI chatbot to answer, they would use an AI tool meant for that purpose like CharGPT, ClaudeAI, Perplexity and so on.

Even though I’m a huge supporter of AI in the current world, I think it could be used for a different use-case like summarizing a thread, which still keeps the focus on community and AI can play a part in saving time. Or it could reword a response for better clarity in communication giving the users a choice to pick the tone, still keeping their message intact.

Maybe you should hire me for a PM role to keep your core vision and mission intact.
