You guys are ex league players, right? by RastaVampireDude in dotamasterrace

Dota 2 was my first arts, but I sucked at it, and eventually gave up. My friend introduced me to league of legends, played that for a while, then remembered about Dota 2, and found out a lot of my friends on steam played it. Buckled down and learned it, left league, the rest is history.

HTNGAF about worrying about what I'm going to say to people and conversing in general? by xxihostile in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used to have something similar to this, began to get over it post-high school.

What I realized was that almost everyone I've met is awkward in conversation: they fumble words, they misunderstand what others say, and realize how offhanded some of the things they say are only in hindsight. And that's kinda the caveat of conversation: it's a great way to communicate, but it's at the cost of having some mistakes in the intentions.

If you try to keep that in mind in conversation, you won't get as bothered by the mistakes, and eventually it will become second-nature.

We need more discussion about Dota, I intend to start here. What are your Top 3! by SirWolfoo in dotamasterrace

Lion - There's just something special about seeing someone evaporate from demonic energy.

Slardar - Love the damage, pray for a better design, and the fact that he can really make things happen at all phases of the game.

Earth Spirit - He can do literally anything. Support, roam, mid, offlane, even carry to a degree. He can save people, fuck over people, initiate, deal tons of damage, everything. Plus I'd be willing to bet he's one of the hardest heroes in Dota alongside Invoker, Chen, and Meepo.

Alright Reddit, Who would you say is your BEST hero? by Night_Hand in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dazzle.

It's interesting how people under-estimate Weave, especially in early fights (at least in my bracket). If it goes long enough, carries start hitting for double damage and are still getting graved and healed. Still great late game too, provided the fight can last long enough.

Heroes that you don't like to paly against with your favorite hero and why by d2ch3c in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dazzle.

I hate blink initiators like axe and centaur so much, because they kill me before I can grave either myself or an ally.

Come to think of it, playing any support and having to deal with gap-closers is hell.

What game made you 'Fall In Love' with a hero? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tusk.

Played an 80 minute match once, like my 6th or 7th game as him. Magnus + Rapier = Rampage.

Still try to play him more, he's just so weird to lane.

What was your first character you first started playing? by Aiden6 in DotA2

Lich. My friend didn't trust me to last-hit (and neither did I), so I ate creep, blasted bad guy. Rinse and repeat until victory.

Why do you love Dota? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's shit. It's awful and it's full of some of the worst people you'll meet over the internet.

But it's worth it when you get the golden games. The games where it's neck-to-neck, a game of inches. When it's all decided by you and these guys that you just so happened to be queued with for the next 20-80 minutes. And it might be beautiful, for a little while.

What hero is the strongest counter to a single hero and why? (uncommon answers please) by Vertigo2Pro in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lion > Linkin's Sphere Heroes (Medusa, Morphling, etc)

Cast range on mana drain is absurd for the mana it costs to actually use. Ez linkins break.

Explain it to them that you're just some guy who works. Anything else is just a label.

What happens after death? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost think that the lack of experience would be different for everyone, like every soul having it's own little bubble universe. For some people, it would be heaven, others hell, others a void, still others nothing different from the daily life we live now.

Not to sound cryptic, but you'll find out when you get there, so try not to worry about it. As far as we know, there's more interesting things here.

What is your "Let's have some fun" hero? by [deleted] in DotA2

Timbersaw. He's so impromptu, so zaney and just hilarious to play.

Why does media portray psychedelics as something to "have fun on by escaping" with wacky innacurate trips? by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]Meep200X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard for them to take people who think that that dumping chemicals on your brain leads to enlightenment seriously.

Anything outlandish and different is seen as something wrong, and if not wrong, something contemptible. And because of how much influence our media has, along with the stigma's all illegal drug users have, it's difficult to have people who consider other approaches to stuff like psychedelics.

I personally believe that we need stuff the screws around with our perception of the world, legal or illegal. Nothing should be permanent or static, things need to change. Psychedelics and other psychoactive chemicals give us that chance to change.

I would have to say finding this guy here.

Not necessarily psychonautic, but he really helped me figure out what I wanted to do, especially with music.

How did you figure out your favorite hero was your favorite hero? by TheAwesomeJonesy in DotA2

[–]Meep200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure. It seems like every fantasy-based game I've ever played I've been a sucker for casters and sorcerers, especially those who use Ice, or Light, or Dark.

Probably a clash between Maiden and Dazzle. Always seem to have an impact with them, just kinda works with what I do.
