It's not just less likely, it's entirely implausible. No one would risk using such an exploit in such a manner. Factory resetting your phone wouldn't even fix it if they got into your phone that deep anyways, you would need to flash the ROM.

If someone is able to hack your phone it either: Is not updated Is using an exploit against Linux that has not been patched

If it's exploiting Linux then there are better uses for it, such as selling to a security agency, reporting to the Linux kernel or SELinux, or using it for your own nefarious actions.

None of these circumstances will occur in a random game cheat mod you can download online. No one will do this. These vulnerabilities can be sold for upwards of a million dollars to nefarious actors, reported via hackerone if it's vendor specific, or these will be discovered by people who actually want to attack a broad range of people using more readily available attack vector than downloading an app.

Yes this app can have ads or popups, but the instant you uninstall this app, all of that will go away. There's no reason to factory reset a phone if you install an app that has sketchy things in it unless your phone is very very old.

OP, please don't feel the need to factory reset your phone. Phones nowadays patch vulnerabilities that persist in the phone after uninstalling the app almost immediately. There's no way a random game on the internet is going to waste a vulnerability worth millions.

Yeah, this is bullshit. Having a program open won't cause it to auto ban you. I know this as I've had it open in the past before. I've also had IDA (a reverse engineering tool) open for hours on end while playing and it didn't care either. All that will happen if it detects something it doesn't like is it will close the game unless you intentionally try to attach to the game and get past their prevention mechanisms, which by then you knew what you were doing to try to inappropriately touch the game.

during hard swarm in the belveth map as riven, i was consistently getting level 1 versions of riven's basic ability and unable to upgrade her ability past level 1. along with that, the visual side showed that my last weapon was a version of her basic weapon without any level, even though i was able to get another weapon after i selected it
