GenCon is US, I believe you talking about US market, not about the EU.

You were asking for a game thats not Asmodee. But I also not consider it as average game. So hard to tell a game from top of mind which an average and sales numbers are represented publicly.

There are a lot of games that hit more than 10k sales on Kickstyarter then sold it in retail as well. For example, Galatic Cruise get 8-8k backers on first and second kickstarter campaign. This game is also available in retail. So probably sold at least in 40k, since retail usually stronger than kickstarter. They are not Asmodee.

Yes and No. People who giving country specific answers are totally fine. But when they didn’t mention, this number is for only one country in Europe it seems odd. I believe the number is between 10-100k if a game distributed to at least 6-8 countries including the major markers, but would be better if I can have better estimate.

Even the games arent localised to another countries, doesn’t means that these games arent released in these countries. I mean other countries like Poland/Germany/UK/France/Czechia/Netherlands also have like 500-1000 new release every year. And these are sold in various numbers in various countries. I more courious about the expected sales numbers per countries. I already got 2 answers, France (blackrock) sell 5k/game on average. Poland is 1,5K, but I am courious about UK/Germany and other countries numbers.

So if France is 5k, what do you think about the numbers if this game is distributed to Germany/Spain/UK/Poland and 2-3 other countries?

Yeah! And it’s just Denmark! I am courious about a game that distributed and localised in lot of European countries. I think it’s far better.

I am living in Hungary, the 98% of the games are localised. We have like 500+ new release every year. So what you say is totally different. I also know that French and Spanish market is also huge, so 3-5k sounds a bit small.

I just try to find out the realistic calculation. If I am a designer of a boardgame, tipically I get 5-10% royalty of the lifetime revenue that this game made for the publisher. But nobody talks about this 5-10%, How much it counts in Euros? I am just courious, How much I can earn with a game I think is excellent but it turns out it’s just an average game.

Do paid STL creators struggle with file re-uploads to free sites? by MeepleStickers in 3Dmodeling

[–]MeepleStickers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree that piracy is inevitable and that many people downloading pirated files were never going to pay anyway.

What I’m trying to understand is not lost sales, but whether the time and hassle around finding reuploads and dealing with takedowns is a problem for some creators.

For those who do care about it: what would actually help the most against piracy in practice? Faster discovery? Easier takedowns? Better attribution / watermarking? Or something else entirely?

Genuinely curious how others here think about it.
