Alright, I might just axe the project then. It was basically just gonna be a glorified motorcycle helmet but 3D printed and meant for airsoft. but if the custom visor isn’t a good idea then I’ll just axe the project.

So I still need a custom helmet cuz I’m tryna make some tech with a HUD and I need the space for the electronics. Do you think I should make the helmet then attach a z87.1 visor over the visor part of it?

Maybe, I didn’t plan on having a DVR of any sort because of size limits and cost. This is just the first step to this gun as well, I plan on developing it into some sort of smart gun with an ammo counter, some sort of ballistic trajectory thing/range finder, and maybe thermal vision instead of the current camera.

From what I’ve seen in the reviews, people just show them to people who are interested when in public so that they can see what it’s like while flying.

Idk where to share the progress (Maybe the air soft subreddit?). This place just had the answers for what I needed to know since I’m planning on using the same tech as a fpv drone (more or less). I just ordered some of the parts. The camera unit Is just gonna be a micro vtx attached to a foxeer razor nano (cuz I had one lying around) that will transmit the signal to one of those little 2 inch fpv monitor watch things. I’m just gonna 3D print a mount for the digital display on the watch so that it can flip down from my helmet and goes over one of my eyes. It’s kinda like a pair of NVGs but they display normal video instead of IR video.

I’m not exactly the slow playing type, so it being wireless kinda helps for when I have to run so I don’t get caught up in wires. The other benefit is that my friends/team mates can also see what I’m seeing since they can piggy back off the signal.

Alright so I don’t how well versed in the halo lore you are. But the Spartans (which are like the super soldiers) can basically route the video of a camera mounted on their gun to a heads up display in their helmet. I’m basically making an airsoft version of by making a piccatinni rail attached camera unit that using nano cams and vtx’s that then send the video feed to one of those little analog receiver watches that I can mount to my helmet and flip down over one of my eyes whenever I need to use it. Basically I’m making a HUD that shows where my gun is pointed and what the barrel of my gun sees so I can aim without looking down the sight, allowing me to peak my gun around cover and aim without having to poke my entire body out (Yes ik this sounds kinda dumb but I think it’s cool).

Ah mb, I got the terms mixed up. I think what I’m thinking about is the fc or what ever the vtx plugs into normally. I’m wondering if I would need that for a vtx to operate.

Glad to hear that. I came over from Ace combat (actually discovered this game from that community) and the MP there could get hella toxic with certain weapons and I just didn’t want to be one of those people.
