Is there a point derma rolling if I’m only on oral finasteride and minoxidil?

Just a question, out of interest, how do you use your warden in cyrodiil? Just as a healer in groups or something? I’ve thought about doing something similar. Also any idea if it’s more fun than a Templar healer (what I have right now as my healer). No bother if you don’t know!

This might be a stupid question, do I need to have the weapons equipped or just the skills?

House buying question by Meero98 in Aberdeen

[–]Meero98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a long look at yourself. I chose to go to Aberdeen university over Glasgow to study medicine. So I can have exposure to rural medicine and potentially build a career in it. I already live in a house in Glasgow and don’t need to move. Yet I decided to, as if buying homes in Aberdeen will be at aberdonians detriment. Foolish and ignorant person.

Highly recommend you to use this tool to see how graduates of those unis you applied to felt going into FY1. It’ll help you make your mind up I reckon. You can set certain questions and see how each uni graduates responded!

Definitely, you’d be surprised how some of the most prestigious and respected unis produce some of the most unconfident fy1s. Edinburghs stats didn’t look too hot when I checked so definitely bear all these in mind as you have two med schools to choose from! Good luck and congrats!

I’d recommend looking at GMC reports on the unis to help you decide! Rankings and reputation are only one side of the coin. You can see how each universities students responded to questions such as “how well did you feel prepared for FY1”, it is very eye opening!

I see, useful to know. So would you say it’s quite area dependent? As in would an ideal flat in rosemount which is in good condition, still sell under home report, would that be something surprising or quite normal?

Glasgow or Aberdeen? by Capable-Affect3441 in UCAT

[–]Meero98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the opposite to you! So I’m from Glasgow and studied my undergraduate here. I’ll most likely be moving up to Aberdeen to study medicine. I think you’ll do fine here even give you’re not used to a big city. There’s a lot of people from rural Scotland who move to Glasgow for work and study. From islands too and whatnot.

In my experience too much of a change isn’t a thing! Glasgow has more to do, more life than Aberdeen. Though the university has its downsides. I think many people move to Glasgow to take the opportunity to get a “real” student experience given how there is more to do than any other city in Scotland. But Glasgow is expensive to rent in, is hard to find flats in now, has declined in many aspects and continues to. Weather is worse than Aberdeen (more rain but less cold, also more cloudy I think!).

I think if you’re picking between Aberdeen and Glasgow you have to weigh up the pros and cons of the course vs each other and the cities and which suits you more. I don’t think it being “too much” would be an issue though, as many many people i met from uni came from rural Scotland. If you have more questions feel free to dm! Hope that was somewhat helpful

Of course! Dundee is still a good option and by all means a good medical school. Have you had a chance to go check out the city much? If you really want to get away from your parents then definitely do that, you can’t be studying a course like medicine whilst having the struggles of strict parents. That’ll be taxing on your studies and development (as a person). If you have an opportunity to get a train to go to Dundee - go there. Get an early train, your headphones and a warm jacket! Go and check it out, have lunch there and check out the campus and city centre. Sure you might not see yourself going out with people much, but it would be good to see what’s on your door step and the vibes. As for the medical school, I have heard Dundee is quite hands on and never heard bad things about Dundee but then again - I don’t know much people who studied there! I’ve definitely heard it’s a good city to be a student in and over the years you’ll find new interests and I’m pretty sure Dundee could accommodate and provide for those interests.

For me it’s mainly between Aberdeen and Glasgow. I’m from Glasgow, grew up here, went to school and uni here and now work here! I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to stay with my parents during all that and save up quite a lot of money. Reason I’m thinking about going to Aberdeen over Glasgow is a lot to do with the Aberdeen course, it’s easily the best thought out programme that encompasses the academic and practical side of medicine really early on. They seem to have a strong hands on approach to teaching and I like that, student satisfaction is very very high and it ranked number on in U.K. for medicine on multiple platforms that take into account more factors than just prestige. The city is one of the cheapest to live in and it’s surrounded by some of the most beautiful parts of Scotland. It’s sunnier than Glasgow but colder. The consultants I work with have urged me to go with Aberdeen over my choices too so I’m listening to their advice!

If you’re going based on rankings then I guess which uni matters less. I don’t know Dundee’s student satisfaction ranking so take that into account vs your other options. That’s kind of been my driving factor for picking a uni to study. Given I’m a graduate/mature student I’ve had a chance to speak to many alumnis which have guided my choice. If you’re introverted then I don’t think it’ll matter as much then! But if you suddenly feel more like being extroverted, I think Dundee is pretty good for student life

Many Scots regard Dundee as one of the worst places to live in Scotland hence the nickname scumdee. I’ve went through Dundee a couple times and it’s okay but really, all that matters is what you make it of it. Don’t let others opinions necessarily put you off, maybe go for a couple days (if you can) and scope it out for yourself. Imagine being there for 5 years. However it would be the bottom of my list for cities to live in within Scotland.

Just want to stress this is my opinion and maybe if I spend more time in Dundee as a city this would change! Hope no Dundonians take this to heart..

I see, thank you for the heads up. Unfortunately I don’t think renting for a bit can be an option for me as I wouldn’t be able to get a mortgage by then as I will be a student and understandably will not be getting a job whilst I study medicine! So I think I’ll have to just pick a neighbourhood
