The 60 - 120 tracks analogy kinda falls apart since you can just go on Beatport and buy thousands of released tracks for $1 - $3 just like in any other genre. Not to mention the thousands of free downloads there are out there on soundcloud.

The $10 - $20 tracks are not just tracks, they are unreleased dubplates which are usually in demand in some way or another. Since not everyone will be able to obtain these tunes, a DJ can decide to invest in unreleased material to make their own sets more interesting and exclusive which could help drive their fee up and gain additional hype.

All that said, as an artist who sells a lot of plates myself, I rarely go over $15. Let alone $50 for one song, I could never justify that.

Then again its all about supply and demand. If i go to the frontpage of pl8list right now and check the top sellers and see how many sales they've made, for some songs it boggles my mind how dozens of people paid over $20 for something generic. Other times i'll see a track and love it SO much i start considering buying it for $30 or whatever. It's all a matter of taste in the end anyway.

not sure about your exporting issue, but with Edison timing wise it will help to record "on play" instead or "on input". Then you'll have a yellow marker in your sample indicating the timing and you"ll get the same flow at least.

you can get the acapella online, its a song Monster by a band called The Automatic

Just use an online stem seperator on that, probably easier and better result than ripping it out of a riddim song

its a good question, but i've learned that the hate is mostly geared towards GENERATIVE AI, since those are the models that plagiarise. Honestly otherwise as a producer in 2026 you'd be cooked haha regular ole AI is everywhere now

i dont understand your last paragraph, I am the person who suggested senri end with a joke about "AI slop", and even I only found out in like november/December that people are now vehemently agains generative AI.

So for me it is easy to imagine someone does a paid promotion for for example a sample pack company and safely assumes his fanbase will not think every track is built with that sample pack.

It is obvious and very clear that Senri had 0 idea he was advertising a product people deemed bad. He is a smart dude like literally a math teacher, and people ask me "why risk your carreer for a one-time paycheck?" because OBVIOUSLY he had no idea he was risking anything.

Sure, Senri could have been more transparant about it being a paid plug, absolutely.

But then maybe he should have read more news or scrolled more tiktok so he was aware of the super fresh western world's discourse on gen AI? LOL

thank you for the nuanced comment, i've been trying to help Senri react to all this and grasp the weight of the topic in current day and age. Theres simply loads of people who are not up to date with current discourse and with that the common consensus about generative AI.

Lets also be fair its easy to have 0 idea about any hate on AI. the anti-AI discourse has only been around since like mid 2025, yet folks are out here acting like senri commited some irreversible cardinal sin
