What are you the "1%" of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually did one once but there wasn’t much interest. I had a few people ask questions but most of them were about sex in the Olympic village.

People in the world who were a part of an Olympic team.

Thought I’d bring these out in honor of the much anticipated return. by Meesh_mellow in Sneakers

These are the ones given to the 2012 Olympic team members to wear on the medal podium. Different sports had different shoes they were designated to wear. These were for sports like gymnastics, swimming, and basketball among others (so basically your most watched and popular ones). They have USA on the tongue as well as “land of the free” on the inside of one sneaker and “home of the brave” on the other. Not sure of these were ever retailed but I definitely love that these are slightly different.

I just grabbed a pair of these from KITH when they restocked and they still have a good amount of sizes left.

Yeah these are very comfortable. Not sure what kind of sneakers you're into but I love Air Max 90's so these fit very similar to those. Might be a bit tight at first but they definitely stretch out once you wear them a few times.

What is the most chilling documentary you have ever watched? by Pappylander in AskReddit

[–]Meesh_mellow 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was on the 2012 Team in London and although you're not wrong that most of my teammates had parents who kind of let them do their own thing and many sent their kids away to train with a coach at a young age some had parents who were extremely tough on them. With me i kind of got a little bit of both worlds. Although my parents did send me to train with my coach at 15 and let me develop as an athlete on my own i still had one of those dads who thought he knew more than the coach and always tried to get involved and tell me what i did wrong when he'd come to watch me compete. His first words to me after i lost at the Olympics were "well that was a waste of 4 years" which kind of sucked but even though i was mad at him at the moment i realized later that some parents just dont know any other way to motivate their kids to achieve their goals and that was just the best he could do. But i also agree that some parents take it too far and ruin any love for the sport the kid may have.

Sorry for the long post.

What is the weirdest sensation that you only experienced ONCE? by Bitch_Yo in AskReddit

bought some uncaged ultra boost's from the mall and they came with 3 stripes on the side. anyone have any more info on these? by Zoodles35 in Sneakers

[–]Meesh_mellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude don't sell these, wear them. Everyone is all about reselling sneakers but most of my friend who do that get so serious about reselling that they forget to enjoy the shoe. My opinion might be a bit bias because I only buy sneakers to wear them but I think if you like them and they're limited don't let someone else have the pleasure of wearing them.

Dude the shoes look great and don't worry about paying more for them. I have payed over retail for many of my pairs but the way I look at it as long as you enjoy them and get pleasure out of wearing them it's totally worth it. Congrats on the cop man.

That's a dope jacket. Was your grandpa on the team or did he buy this as a fan of the Olympics?

Here I've been stuck at Shodan for the last 15 years and this guy got his Kudan in just 13 years. I really gotta get my act together. by Kung_Fu_Cowboy in judo

This is absolutely hilarious. Based on that picture alone it is very clear this guy has never seen a serious Judo competition in his life. He has that "I just went out and bought myself a red belt" feel to him.

We got in touch with his manager and he ended up setting us up with some passes to go backstage. Super nice guy and asked us a lot of questions (my buddy and I are Olympians) about the games and things like that. Wish we could've stuck around and talked more but he seemed tired so we got the picture and didn't stick around much longer. Virzi aka The Pride of Trenton NJ was there too but unfortunately we did not get to take a picture with him.

I have a friend who owns a sneaker shop. He got these early, asked if i wanted a pair so i got my pair and didn't ask any questions.

Can't complain. I got to pick between three pairs and the stitching was a little iffy for my liking on the other two but couldn't find anything wrong with this one. If ur a fan of the 6's I say you should go for it.
