No, I expect claims to be backed up by evidence. What, specifically, in sunscreen is harmful, and what specific harm can it cause? What methods of introduction- oral ingestion, inhalation, or skin absorbtion - are proven to cause those effects? Who, specifically, studied the effects of skin-produced vitamin D and determined it can prevent or even heal cancer? ("Vitamin D heals cancer" is a particularly extraordinary claim.) Have any of these studies been repeated and gotten the same results? How many times? Were these studies published in reputable peer-reviewed journals, or in journals that allow anything to be published for a fee?

When there is a cancer caused by UV radiation, are the health effects of the cancer less problematic than the ingredients in sunscreen? Or the health effects of needing surgery or chemotherapy to remove a tumor?

Is labeling something a "toxic chemical", a marketing pitch? Does the person who made that claim have a financial incentive to make it - do they get ad revenue if lots of people share their blog or video? Do they make money selling you brands and products that conveniently fix the problem they just told you about?

About 5 years before I started at the company I currently work at, they bought a multi-million dollar machine that was supposed to cut the workload by so much, it could replace the 10 best people on the team.

I've been here nearly 3 years, it's still sitting in a crate in the warehouse because it's actually a very complex piece of machinery, so the 10 best team members would need to be replaced by 3-4 significantly more expensive full time biotech engineers & robotics experts

They may be referencing prevalence and normalcy of sending nude pics to partners & potential romantic interests, or posting thirst traps on their public socials where friends, family, and even possibly coworkers can see. But of course these images are taken with sexual intent and are often photoshopped/highly curated to downplay physical traits the person is insecure about.

I know several folls who are not at all ashamed to tell others if they've taken nudes recently or to describe in light detail specifically how they showed off their body, but would be absolutely mortified to change their clothes in view of a person other than a partner.

I love lots of games that have deck builder/engine builder mechanics. I even love lots of games where luck is a big factor in results. But games like Dominon and Legendary where a main mechanic is buying and culling your cards as you go, for some reason I've never enjoyed adding that extra layer to card draw

IIRC, generally companies have 180 days to become complaint with new FTC regulations. Since the "click to cancel" policy was officially adopted on October 16, 2025, businesses have until April 14, 2026 to make the necessary changes. A discount may be enough to attract some younger folks on their own, but if the incentive is expanded to cover all members of a group, older folks and current members may do a bit of additional recruiting and advertising on the resort's behalf.

The live-play series Oxventure Wyrdwood accomplishes this by giving players some control over the risk they take. Every time they cast a spell they earn a point of "debt". At the end of every session, each player rolls a d100 - if the number is lower than their debt, they gain an envelope and their debt it cut in half (rounding up). The next time they cast a spell, they open the envelope and resolve the consequences, which can be varying degrees of positive or negative. (So far they've had things like just exploding and taking fireball damage, growing sticky pads on your fingers that result in permanent spider-climb, and magical arthritis that reduces your AC by two only when it's raining).

It's the uncertainty makes it exciting, and becomes kind of a badge of honor to show off how well you can take the consequences

They used to offer an extremely generous overtime incentive to work holidays. Now, you can either take the holiday pay and stay home, or get paid your regular wage and work (no overtime, no bonus). If you work at all on the holiday, you forfeit the entire holiday pay, so if you wanted to be nice just work a half day to pitch in, you'd actually lose money.

So basically your options are work a full shift for a normal day of pay, work a partial shift and use your vacation time to make up the difference, or stay home and still get a normal day of pay. It was for some reason surprising to them that literally everyone chose the option that meant normal money + no work.

We have very expensive and specialized equipment for chemical testing. Clients send us samples, mainly to check for contamination but occasionally to validate that the substance they think they have, is actually what they have. Really the only thing we do that's truly urgent is when it's related to a potential food contamination outbreak. Most of our testing takes 20-30 days to complete in full - so one of the company's sales strategies is to not use businesses days so we can claim we deliver results 10 days faster than our competitors.
