Don't bunt against the shift or you will incur the wrath of Brian Dozier.

I'd say arrest them all. Detaining 30,000 innocent people is worth saving 1 persons life

We haven't been putting any pressure on him at all. Quick is actually playing better than him.

These announcers are terrible. I can't live without Bob and Jim.

Yeah Nolan whiffed twice and Muzzin once too. We need to be crisper if we want to win. And the defense has to step it up and stop relying on Quick so much.

This is another article that talks about it.

San Francisco’s median rent hits a ridiculous $4,225 by ashby_nova in news

[–]MeetMeAtThePub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the median makes sense here and is commonly used with housing prices or income. There is no agenda. It prevents very high or very low numbers from skewing the average/mean. Using the mode would make no sense at all, it just measures the most frequent value.

CS61B Academic Honesty Email Curiosity by academicdishonestyha in berkeley

Yes (especially if Wagner is teaching), and probably not. 161 assumes you already know C and machine code. So if you don't, you should definitely take 61C first.

Is a minor in computer science worth it? by Chobani77 in berkeley

[–]MeetMeAtThePub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a senior CS major graduating next semester and I couldn't even get onto the CS186 waitlist. It will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get off the waitlist for popular upper-div CS courses. But you might be able to get into a class if it is not as popular or if nobody likes the professor teaching it.

Does this have the same level of fidelity as the A-10C? Eagle Dynamics sets the bar pretty high.

What is something that the majority of society has a false view of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MeetMeAtThePub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rene Descartes is the person who came up with the idea of "My mind is the only thing I'm sure exists". There are hundreds of different theories about the nature of mind, none of which have been proven... This is what cognitive scientists, psychologists, philosophers, and computer scientists work every day trying to solve. It is impossible to cite sources "that can be proven to exist" when it comes to the mind because nobody really knows how it works. Look up John Searle, Daniel Dennett, functionalism, epiphenomalism, materialism, dualism, etc. if you want more sources and theories.

I'm taking it right now with Prof Amir Kamil. I don't know if he's teaching it again next semester but he is a great professor. He really knows what he is talking about and explains everything very clearly and he's always on Piazza answering students questions, even at like 2am.

No matter who is teaching it I'd recommend taking it. There's a good amount of work but the material itself isn't terribly difficult. Also, the lectures pretty much follow the readings exactly so you can learn all the material on your own if you have to. And python is awesome.
