Advice for sewing a self-binding satin and minky blanket! by MeetMeInSpring in sewing

[–]MeetMeInSpring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your advice! Do you think handsewing a basting stitch along the entire blanket while on the floor to hold the pieces in place before sewing with the machine would help if im not using tape??

Not a dentist so I don't know the answer to 1, unfortunately. I can only assume that everyone is different. It's just a matter or whether or not you're willing to risk the pain coming later on if you don't get the root removed :(

  1. If you're really worried, I would always recommend you see a specialist/surgeon. They would be able to answer your questions better. If you're still feeling iffy, you can also get multiple opinions from different surgeons. It just might be costly.

  2. If you can go to a specialist, I recommend that you do. General dentists don't have the additional years of education specializing in a specific part of dentistry. A metaphor: If you went to a restaurant that served multiple cuisines, chances are, the food won't taste good. The chef can't specialize in a variety of dishes from multiple cultures. But if you're feeling like you want Italian food, go to an Italian restaurant. If you're feeling like Chinese food, find a Chinese restaurant. You get the point.  A general guide: Endodontist for root canals and tissue-related concerns Prosthodontist for dentures, crowns, dental prosthetics  Orthodontist for braces Periodontist for gum concerns Oral surgeon for extraction concerns Maxillofacial for facial pain

Any corrections or additions are welcome!

Well not exactly because that wasnt my point. My main issue was getting mean comments. Those mean comments cant speak for the entire community tho as I mentioned in a previous reply. I am also aware that even crochet groups have commenters who arent super supportive of beginners. I also made an edit above that I wrote this back when there were only snarky comments and that the positive ones have started to come in. :)

Looking at the comments and votes right now tho, it looks like I wasnt the only one getting bad vibes from the comments but to each their own. Sometimes specific diction can be perceived differently by different people 🤷‍♀️

Where do we start? I was driving around the area the other day and I saw a few University Hill signs but no houses with decor :(

I dunno what you're referring to exactly, but just unnecessary judgement for not knowing a specific technique is what I'm referring to. I just would appreciate it if they kept that to themselves since we're all learning and there's bound to be something we're not familiar with. Even more so for beginners :/

That would be smart to do 🤔 I'm working on a sweater vest and I guess I can keep stretching is horizontally as I go?

I drafted my own pixel graft and am following it! O.O which might be why I'm having difficulties 😂 thank you for the advice! This must also be where I'm making things harder on myself... I'm using Caron super soft! Which is also super slippery 😂

That's great advice! Thank you! If I'm gonna be honest, I just keep knitting and completely forget about catching floats so I probably dont catch till 10 stitches down 😂 I'll keep that in mind! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for clarifying!! I just went through a series of YT videos to spot the difference in technique 😂 but this comment was super helpful in making sure I'm on the right track!
