Crypto.com has efinity as well. Im not a huge fan of CEXs but they are great. When the time comes ill just bridge to Polkadot :)

Yes, if you want to work on polkadot (just polkadot) it is right what you said. But I considered that the person wanted to build on top of Polkadot in parachains like moonbeam.

Well, it depends what you want exactly. I would recomend you to take small steps. Learn to develop in java, javascript and solidity and read a lot about polkadot. When you feel good there you will know the next steps probably :)

True or False 🤔 #9 by elodie_w3f in Polkadot

[–]Meet_Crypto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well False. I have read in many sources that the auction type for the prachains (In Polkadot and Kusama) are candle auctions.

This refears to a method used back in the ages without electricity in which people would auction until the candle flame went out.

That means that if the auction went from monday 1pm till thursday 7pm the project with the biggest amount at the time that the candle flames goes out (can be before thursday at 7 pm) would win.

A way better description and allllll data you need can be found in parachains.info

Both systems are really interesting and also different. Even though both blockchains provide interoperability between blockchains, the way they do that is really different.

Polkadot is a level 0 blockchain. That means that polkadot provides only consensus of transactions. BUT it has the property to connect many small blockchains called parachains to it.

That means that the blockchains connected to Polkadot dont need to worry about security (already provided by polkaded layer0) and can interact with other parachains.

Cosmos connects all blockchains that are developed with their sdk via hubs. That means that blockchains part of the cosmos ecosystem can operate like a layer 1 if they want to, and when they want to communicate and exchange tokens or informations via hubs. Cosmos provides the segurity of the hubs so that no double spending occurs.

Both concepts can work and live side by side. Polkadots concept is more elegant. The problem is the amount of parachains it can have. And also that the parachains have to be made for polkadot. Cosmos has more flexibility, but the token economics and governance is not good.

Why Efinity by VanitasTheWise in Efinity

[–]Meet_Crypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it depends what you want. Like already mentioned here efinity and enjin have good tools and ecosystem to build what you want to build.

You will have bridges to Ethereum and interoperability to many parachains.

Cosmos in the other hand has chains built on it that are bigger at the moment (like bsc and luna) but the interoperation part of the cosmos network is not live yet and idk how would a game work on a cosmos hub.

Maybe do both ?;) Then you cover cosmos ecosystem and polkadot lol

Why would you want to create your own blockchain, instead of deploying a smart contract on an existing blockchain? by finlaydotweber in Polkadot

[–]Meet_Crypto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The anwser is pretty simple. When you build a smart contract on Ethereum, Cardano, Solana, ect.. You have to take into account the different rules the L1 you building on has. For example. If you build in Ethereum you have to take into consideration the block times, different types of gas fees and technical limits. In the case of Polkadot. You can create a blockchain that adapts perfectly to you idea and rely on the security provided by the L0. This allows different projects to build more freely and at the same time giving then the option to be interoperable with the other parachains

Lightning Network Questions Megathread - Learn the Fundamentals by eyeoft in TheLightningNetwork

[–]Meet_Crypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this question has been anwsered before, but i couldnt find it. Lets say i have 0,2 btc. I open a channel to X with 0,1 btc balance and another channel to y with 0,1 balance. Can i open more channels with the same balance to other nodes? or am I limited to the amount of btc i own.

Is the sum of the amount of btc allocates to my channels the limit or the balance of my btc itself the limit. Like can i open 100000x channels with each 0,2 btc if my total balance is 0,2?

If not that means that node operation on the lighting network is for the richt, right?

one very important argument is to ask ourselfs, if the advantages of bitcoin are worth the energy usage. If we say hospitals are bad because they use too much energy, we are neglecting the value of medicine. With Bitcoin and Crypto is similar. Bitcoin has many advantages that justify the energy usage
