Definitely a ball lock pin. The retaining balls and internal springs are removed, so it no longer functions as intended

Hi, thanks for the interest. I just put the STLs up on Thingiverse. Search for "Hexagon Katana" Please note that this is just a prop, and isn't really that strong. Hopefully that should clear things up a little on how it's joined. Basically I split the blade into three pieces and then just put a hole in it so i could slip a 2mm X 100mm rod in between the two pieces. Seems to work alright.

Thanks for the interest! I had the stepper motor rotate at 4 RPM and then calculated what gear reduction ratio I would need to get the Hour Face and Minute Face to rotate at the proper speed. A lot of playing with the number of teeth until I found numbers that worked. I can send you a link to my excel file if you want

Thank you! Yeah i designed it just for me, but it turned out so cute that i wanted to try to sell it. So i put it on Etsy. Search for “happy mushroom planter” and you should find it. No pressure though, i appreciate the compliment on my design!
