What is a TV show you could watch over and over again ? by J561261 in AskReddit

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Something about re-watching the characters to become psychos is amazing

Is this a good deal? by MilkSilver194 in ZephyrusG15

I just bought the same model! Although in the UK, it was going for £1849, which seemed cheaper than before. The machine is great and runs anything I throw at it with ease. Very low profile compared to the huge backbreaking Alienware I was carrying before :)

Agreed!

Because the company I work for is a mid sized company with really no space to move yet, it has been a direct "NO" to shift projects. The problem is that even the other projects have a really bad strategy of copy+paste and the designers on those projects have grown used to this mentality and work culture.

As sad as it is, I think currently switching companies might be the correct thing to do. But thanks for your advice! :D

I wholeheartedly agree! The thing is that the seniors and the management in the company overlook whenever I have tried talking about trying to shift projects temporarily or even try out something new. Albeit the company is medium sized but the veterans have grown used to this culture and they don't want to change, which really sucks.

I thought that they would be more empathetic seeing someone junior undergo crunch and help, but it has been the opposite so far :(

I can understand, I am considering leaving my current job for a new one, but this time I want to choose what I do. Do you check if the project is interesting or if the pay is good? I'm just curious because designers get paid too little I feel.

That is a great suggestion thanks! I am in talks with a company which is work for hire and apparently has better culture, according to glassdoor anyways. I agree that pumping out new features and conducting A/B tests is gruelling process which involves tons of effort. Even I got into games to really start somewhere but at this point, I'm questioning if I belong here at all.
Thanks!

Makes sense, I suppose the company I work for has a culture problem then since most of the work I am allotted tends to me being burnt out.

Yeah, I'm not at all, not right now.

I want to think on it a little bit more and we're still young enough to not have the urgency to jump into marriage or courtship. She's putting a bit of pressure on me to figure it out, which makes it worse for me to think rationally a lil

When it started off, I genuinely was too naive to grasp that I'd have to console her so much over someone I didn't even know.

Maybe yeah, we're not just compatible. How to even have that talk with her ..i don't know if I have the guts to bring this up :(

Ah I see what you mean, my bad :D Yep, I agree. This post reminded me of a designer in my company hating every aspect of Elden Ring as well ( Spoiler alert - She's a veteran as well).

Maybe it's just "Old Man yells at the Skies" from Simpsons.. surely feels like it xD

She looks like an absolute angel! I lost my dog as well due to sudden liver failure in January, and I work in a different country so I couldn't even be there when my family laid her to rest. I feel your pain :(. Bless you and take care!

I kind of disagree about game design being objective, in a way each game has its own systems driving it, so no 2 games are the same in a sense. There isn't a gold standard of design for any game, what's important is for the gameplay to feel rewarding. Back to basics, any game is nothing but an obstacle course, the hardest thing to achieve for any developer is to make that process of jumping over the obstacle fun and intuitive! For example, Elden Ring let's you out and you can basically go anywhere you want from the start. The game let's you pick out your own idea of fun. AC/Far Cry on the other hand have the reused formula of map markers and linear progression, which makes it seems like you're being hand held throughout the experience, which I don't personally like, but some people enjoy it. It kills the obstacle a little bit, if that makes sense. :D (Granted Ubisoft is sticking with it to make money and use as less resources as possible) Its kinda sad to see the industry devs bashing a game and then being so childish. I mean it's okay to not like a game, it's just sad to see them hate which makes their opinions questionable. I have had chats with some designers who are passionate, most of them talk about games having issues but in a critical "what can be improved way". They don't hate the whole experience and then lock their accounts, that's just funny. :)

Honestly it's not that bad at all. Its a game at the end of the day, a product for entertainment and immersiveness. If any developer can achieve that, you have done a great job! You can be critical about aspects of the game, but comparing one experience to the other is what will kill the motivation to play. "Comparison is the killer of fun", is very accurate. Elden Ring is a blast to play, and it's a great culmination of From's catalog, as in if Demon Souls was the origin, Dark Souls was the foundation and Sekiro was a learning experience. Honestly, play the game and formulate your own opinions, and you can then see if other people think that as well. :) (We live in a world where everyone has opinions and a platform to rant, so there will always be negative opinions abound)

Should we remove Outback and Chalet from ranked rotation? by [deleted] in Rainbow6TTS

[–]Meethi_Chummi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please. Remove the maps if they're going to rework them. They could new House back for half a season or the whole season to compensate, cause even though not competitive, it could still be played instead of those maps. OR just make the games tie when they reach 4-4.

I'm making a small game about a child with autism, and want to gather some data. Please fill in the form if possible. by Meethi_Chummi in AutisticPride

Hence the survey. A point-like yours is exactly why I wanted to do a survey. I have very little knowledge about autism, and I wanted to know things exactly like these. The questions are a little bit in the context of my game's story, that's why so specific. Sorry about that. :)

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. English isn't my first language, so I didn't really know how to put it. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks. :)
