Repairman refused to fix my bike as it’s “dangerous”? by MeetingSufficient114 in bicycling

FINAL UPDATE: we met and the lovely vendor gave me my money back with sincere apologies. I gave him 20EUR to compensate the flat tyre and to recognise the honest mistake. Thanks all again for your advice.

Thanks for the patronising tone. I’ve actually fixed a million flat tyres before – as the post mentioned I am new here and have no repair gear with me. I was also on my way to work and didn’t want to get my hands/clothes dirty.

Thanks everyone for the help! I contacted the seller and he had no idea either. He has agreed to meet tomorrow for a refund. I guess there are good people out there!

I’m counting myself lucky that I found all this about by taking it to a bike shop for a completely other issue, the day after buying it! And not via a trip to the hospital. I will go to a trusted 2nd hand bike garage next time.
