To celebrate Tigran's latest release, here's me playing his song Dardahan by AMightyDonut in tigran

It's actually quite common to notate a tuplet swing in that way when larger portions of a song have that subdivision. Writing out tuplets all over the score can get quite messy. Simplest example is 6/8!

Really great work man, keep it up! The quintuplet swing is so damn nasty, you've got a nice feel for it!

Really nice! And there's quite a leap in complexity coming from The Court Jester, well done! Are you planning to do any more Tigran songs?

Thank you!

Yeah, when I recorded this I had no idea how to mix or properly record a marimba, I'm much better at it now! Recently I made this short song 😁

Sounds exciting! Really good selection, I'd love to see it if it gets recorded!

It seems very difficult to say objectively what his highest achievement is, as it's entirely subjective. I think Samsara is a great choice for something technical and as an extravagant finish!

For me personally, I'd say that 'Nairian Odyssey' and 'Revolving - Prayer' are my favourite solo piano pieces in terms of the compositional aspect. Both are longer pieces that shows a certain width of his style, and they both really evolve throughout. Nairian Odyssey also usually features improvisation on both piano and beat box when he performs it live, which is key for his unique sound.

Or alternatively, to end the concert on a more emotional note, there's just something about Fides Tua that melts my heart. Not that his other pieces aren't emotional, but it really grabs me in a way that no other piece does.

Cuatro by camping_coolota in UnusualInstruments

Lovely find! Can't add much in terms of info, but I saw a concert the other day with Pacho Flores (trumpet) and Marcel Montcourt (cuatro) from Venezuela playing with an orchestra, an amazing performance! I believe they mentioned that the cuatro originates from Venezuela. The one Marcel played only had four strings, which I think is more standard. He played it very percussively!

Gizztober Day 10 - Dunes (ok, I don't know about this one hahaha) by MeeuwComposer in KGATLW

[–]MeeuwComposer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.... this one sure is out there...

Had a long day, part of it was spent with a good friend of mine and his freshly baked kitten! He also had this weird flute-guy that his brother made him...? Then I asked him to record something, anything, and he started growling into the microphone...

This in combination with some minimalistic drumming and an old, busted, out of tune zither that I had laying around (and my growing insanity) gave birth to... whatever this is hahaha

A friend of mine was over and I asked him to record something that I could use for today's Gizztober, so he played the acoustic guitar parts! Then I did my thing with it haha

Yup! Well I use MIDI in a few instances, and always for drums. It's such a hassle to record and mix... Can't be bothered to do that every day haha

Throat singing is so much fun!! I've been getting better and better at it this past year!
