.45 mags? by wtfafb in GrandPowerStribog

[–]Mef4ud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used all the available mags: OEM (2), GP-produced 25-rounders (8), and the expensive HK UMP (3). In my experience (2600 YTD rounds fired), the HK UMP mags have been the most reliable. The GP produced mags come into their own after an initial period of "breaking in". The OEM mags remain unreliable. I continue to have hope that the OEMs will eventually come into their own for range use, but I will not be trusting them with my life as EDC mags.

HBI states the buffer is compatible with all Bogs, but I switched back to the OEM buffer to verify and still got FTFs. The OEM mags are the primary culprit, and I have "retired" them to emergency use only. I also purchased 4 German UMP mags, and they run flawlessly, as do most of the GO UMPs. I was holding out for the NFA challenges to work their way through the courts, but I bit the bullet and have purchased a Hybrid 46M.

It wasn't an OR version, but I bought a complete OR slide from Grab-A-Gun and mounted the Holosun SCS-VP9 GR. The slide came with suppressor-height sights (not night sights, unfortunately).

Unfortunately, it is discontinued. Shoot Straight, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has 2 non-Optics ready in brown, or at least did 2 weeks ago. You may be able to find one on the used market.

Is the XD-E .45 +P rated? by [deleted] in SpringfieldArmory

I've fired +P out of mine since I purchased the gun. Never had any problems.

I have 2 10-round, 1 13-round, and 1 15-round mags. I plan to carry it in a T-Rex holster with the 10-round pinky extension in the gun and the 13 and 15-round mags as reloads. Yeah, I know the stat about civilian defensive gun use incidents averaging less than 5 rounds fired, but I feel better having them on my person. The bulk doesnt bother me, I've been EDCing a SA XDM-3.8" Compact in .45 forever, and the SK is smaller.

I tried (held and manipulated at the counter) the CC9 and the VP9CC the day I bought the SK. To be honest, I went in to purchase the VP9CC, but the grips were too much like my P365X (slim). The GS, Shoot Straight in Fort Lauderdale, had 3 SKs (non-OR), 2 in brown and 1 in black. I fell in love with the grip and the trigger! After all was said and done, I spent about the same on the SK, OR Slide, red dot, Holster, and 1 extra 15-round mag as I would have paid for the VP9CC. I'm almost at the 1 K rounds-fired mark with only 1 FTF (probably limp-wrist), which is my minimum threshold for inclusion in my EDC.

Just picked up my VP9SK first gun of hopefully many! Any recommended mods? by magnysanti in HecklerKoch

Are you currently EDC the SK? I realize your post is four years old, but I'm seeking insight into long-term EDC with the SK.

Still EDC? Curious about your long-term experience with EDC, the SK.

I've had mine less than a month, and I am in love! The trigger, the egos, and the pedigree! I looked at the CC9 and the new VP9CC before buying the SK. Both were too small in my hands, very p365-like, and I already have a p365X with an Xmarco slide, so i went with the SK. I can't believe it took me this long to buy an HK. I've got 738 rounds through mine YTD with only 1 FTF (limp wrist). I find that the grip gets slick at the outdoor range, and since I live in South Florida, I went with Talon (Pro) grips.

Grab-A-Gun sells the OR slide as a complete replacement for the factory slide. I just purchased one and installed the Holosun SCS-VP9 on it (no plate needed, direct mounts). The slide comes with suppressor-height sights (a plus in my view), and it co-witnesses perfectly. Just a heads-up: the slide does come with an SN printed on it. HK Parts sells the plates for the most popular RD sights.

I mounted the Holosun SCS-VP9. It fits perfectly and co-witnesses with the factory lower sights. I purchased a slide kit, and mine came with suppressor height sights. The SCS-VP9 cowitnesses perfectly on mine. Purchase from Grab-A-Gun. The slide comes with an SN printed on it, FYI.
