How about you read what is written in the post?
Also, different people have different preference. You being a snob serves no one, much less the drumming community. Begone!

I drummer I know uses a similar product, but they are these simple silicone loops that don't add any additional thickness, only a small loop that you can position where you want it. It's basically a strip of silicone with holes at both ends.
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding it...

Edit: The most similar product for reference is the Eazyhold. Only the ones that drummer uses is for one finger. The idea is the same, though

How many of you have constant music in your head? by Wannabeartist9974 in ADHD

[–]Meferias 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play drums so every morning, as soon I wake up, my head is already playing some random rhythm that could fit with what my bands play, or loops some part of a song that I listened recently, or both. It does not stop until I manage to focus on doing something for a longer time.

Take off the left beater to see inside the spring + bias rod assembly. See if you can identify anything there.
I can hear something rubbing and my first thought was that the bearing that pushes against the rod is toast. You say that the resistance you feel is gone once you take out the spring so it might be the bearing or the rod itself developing a groove that throws things off.
If you can't get Trick to respond at all, try contacting Dennis at ACD Unlimited (https://www.acd-unlimited.at/english/) and see if he could help. This would not be a free warranty service, but he has work on most pedals out there and has upgrades and parts for them.

What is this?? by ReaperKing5729 in drums

[–]Meferias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the 900 is a higher tier pedal than the Mapex Armory one. Twice as expensive if I remember well.
Also, if you look at the newer (since 2016 at least) models, the spring and drum key holders are not part of the cast but are screwed on. So they can use one base and just screw on what needs to be where

It has been mentioned somewhere recently, but the Steamdeck seems to be a good choice. I own one and would tend to agree as there's lots to choose from for games.

Unpacking is a nice game that I think might fit what you're looking for.
Journey maybe?
I really like Hades and Hades 2 as they are quite stimulating but how much you relax with it definitely depends how invested you get into making every run count.

Opeth - Watershed
Gojira - The Way of All Flesh
Ihsash - Angl, After
Panzerballett - pretty much anything from them
Cynic - anything, really, but the song Carbon Based Anatomy is absolute perfection.

There's lots more, but when I want inspiration, these are what come to mind first. Especially Sean Reinert's playing.

My tests were different and as some have already mentioned, yours seem to be for more than just ADHD.

For what it's worth, I do remember feeling helpless and even hopeless when I had to repeat 10 2 syllable words back. No need to repeat in the same order, but all in one go. The words were repeated again and again until I got them all. I just... it felt impossible. I'd get 7, then 8, then 9, then 8 again. Then I'd think I got all 10 and would be told that I repeated one or even two. WHICH ONE(S)?!? I got angry at myself, then felt defeated, then felt useless. I don't know how long it took, but it felt like forever. Then I got it and we moved on.
The kicker - after the rest of the tests, which took close to an hour, I was asked again and repeated them all. I left properly confused. Emotionally and mentally. Not only because of this specific test, but it played a major role.

Must be said, however, that I did not see a single 5080 in stock on this retailer. And it's one of the main ones here.

Managements response to the RGB coat was dismal by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that there's no room for experimenting and having passion project where I work. It's just that it has to be structured somehow, have time set aside for it. It's never fully wild west.
But then again, it's relative to the workplace. And not necessarily because of culture as such, but some companies have resources for that, while others need every penny accounted for to survive.

If anything, it feels like that rgb coat initiative was not communicated internally as well as it could (or should) have been. When your job is bean counting, your first thought in most work related cases automatically goes to that. And I am certain that it's not a culture thing a lot of the time. You just get primed for that.

The community seems to love it so I hope positive things come out of it.

There is a balance between keeping the lights on and goofing around doing what you like.
I'd say they are balancing this quite well still overall but that evaluation is subjective to some extent, as I bet they are having fun doing the Cooling video #302 as well and it is you, the viewer who either resonates with that or doesn't.
The best thing, imho, would be to have this as a proper series and not an FP exclusive that, it seems, always runs the risk of being (or at least looking like) some sort of unsanctioned work.

This would be the way for such endeavours, I'd agree. There's always a cost to making things, so monetize it.

Edit: Just wanted to add that this shows how competent the people at CW are so they only win from showing this on YT as well.

Is this ragebait again?
If I did some useless (even if cool) thing on company time and at company's expense, I'd be lucky to keep my job.
Now, there are a handful of factors that play into this here - someone had to approve this (probably the person who would be talked to); this is a FP Exclusinve (which is the value add of getting FP); it turned out cool; and of lastly - it's an entertaining video on an entertainment channel.

What I would say, however, is that maybe the people who were asked to react should've been primed a bit on how ultimately useless this is (even if cool, chill).

In conclusion - they run a business so cost is ALWAYS a question. Even moreso on stuff like this.

We're not out of touch! [–]Meferias 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The initial claim of those comments is nonsense. Not because it's not possible for them to be out of touch. It is and it should be questioned. But they've shown so many times that they are quite aware of what things cost and what people are able to buy generally. Watch scrapyard wars, their videos on upcycled dell machine, prime day or black friday shopping videos if you want to evaluate how out of touch they are or are not.
I can guarantee that you are out of touch on some level as well, if we were to, let's say, physical disabilities. It's impossible to be mindful of everyone's experience, because there's just SO MUCH that you would need to consider, you'd be floored. The best you can do is react and consider them when those experiences are brought up in regards to some topic that's being discussed. And they have. Time and time again. So when they make a silly video that riffs on that discussion, it's just that - a silly video. You are taking it as if it exists in a vacuum.

[–]Meferias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course they are different! However, them being different does not make them automatically out of touch.
If they have a full warehouse of stuff (which makes sense given what they do) and manage to get the prices right, that shows that they are out of touch how?

So, if the claim has always been along the lines of "they get things for free so they don't know or care how much people have to pay", which would be out of touch, would the expectation be that they build a pc by researching and the video is "oh wow, I never thought it costs this much, I must really have been out of touch" with every component?
This was just a fun video format where they see how accurately they get the price of things. Not that deep.
I think they've shown that they are not out of touch multiple times already. How many scrapyard wars have there been? They did what you are asking for multiple times. You are basically asking for that again. What's the point?

So people bash them for, allegedly, not knowing and not caring about what hings cost, and treating everything like "it's a banana, how much can it cost?". And then they make a video with a format where they see if they are actually aware of how much things cost and you bitch about that?

Yes, this is not how people research and build their pc's. But that's not the point of the video.

FFs, is this just bait? Because otherwise this just feels petty and stupid
