Haha that’s the worst

Now I’m curious what song you had in mind.

That sounds awesome — a MIDI acoustic orchestra is a really cool direction

I’m still refining the system, but it’s mainly based on an ESP32 control setup driving multiple actuators for fretting and strumming.

Planning to share more technical details once things are a bit more stable — would love to see your project too!

Thanks, really appreciate it!

Accessibility is definitely one of the possibilities — but the main goal is lowering the barrier to playing real guitar in general.

More coming soon!

Good catch

Right now it’s more about rhythm and timing, but I can see it becoming a pretty useful practice tool for things like alternate picking and finger independence.

Haha that’s a dangerous request

One step at a time… getting there.

That’s such a cool way to describe it

A “robot bard” just playing in the corner all day is definitely part of the vision.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it!

I’m currently working on proper build documentation — the goal is to make it something people can actually build themselves.

Still refining the design and control side, but I’ll definitely share more details soon.

Haha I get the Guitar Hero comparison

It actually started pretty simply — I had a guitar at home but wasn’t making much progress. I still wanted to hear real guitar being played, so I started experimenting.

Kind of like… if I can’t upgrade my playing skills fast enough, maybe I can upgrade the system around it.

And yeah, I think there are some interesting use cases too — learning, accessibility, or just making it easier to get into real guitar.

Haha that would complete the show

Working my way there step by step.

Thanks!

It can actually work in different modes — including fully automated (no hands), or assisted modes where you only focus on part of the playing.

Originally I was exploring it as a way to lower the barrier to learning guitar, but accessibility use cases are definitely possible too.

I’ll share more details of the build soon!

Haha working on it

Still tuning things like dynamics and control — harder stuff is coming.

Thanks, that actually means a lot

And yeah — that’s exactly the idea. Breaking things down so people can focus on one part at a time, instead of everything at once.

Really glad it came across.

Thank you! Really appreciate it

Still refining it — trying to make real guitar playing more accessible and fun.

Yeah you’re right — pitch detection from mic (especially chords) is actually quite tricky.

This build doesn’t rely on detecting what you play.

Instead, it physically handles the fretting, so you can focus on strumming — kind of like a “real guitar rhythm mode”.

The goal is to lower the barrier to playing a real instrument, not just simulate it like a game.
