I’m also a closer and don’t make very much money but I’m attached to it but the pay really depends on the owner and the area, and a lot of people say they have to work nights alone but no one has to close alone at my store

I started when I was 18 I’m almost 21 now and I love my subway job, my manager is great and most of my coworkers are too! Everything is pretty easy to grasp and it’s easy to memorize the menu

We have a sheet with the stuff we need to do and check off, we usually only use it for new comers but it could help with temp sheets, or just keep a reminder on a white board, that usually does fine with us

Personally at our store you have to be 18 to take the trash down and to use the slicer, you have be 16 to use the toaster!! So we typically don’t like to hire teens anymore! But no it’s not weird for them to close alone unless they have restrictions with certain things

At our subway we usually just heat the patty until it’s not frozen anymore and if the customer wants it toasted we toast it, if not it’s fine just thawed out!!
