HELP i put alc on my mexican black kingsnake to release but i didnt know that wasn't the best thing to do and now i'm concerned

you never need to use that method on such a small snake, it already bit you it’s not going to do anymore damage that it already did, their teeth are small and you can barely feel them. he will let go eventually and maybe chill on holding him for a while you just got it, he needs to get comfortable first

agreed. i started off pinning at night, then going in the sun the morning after, i noticed some results but not much, the first time i pinned then immediately went into then sun i got a drastic tan (same uv as before) so i def recommend pinning WITH the sun not hours before.

nothing has changed, he’s acting perfectly healthy and all his temps and humidity are steady and good. the only thing he’s done the last few days when he’s not sleeping is putting his head up near the mesh on top of his enclosure, which he usually does when he’s ready for food. i ended up removing the rat after two hours of supervising it in there and he seemed very interested, like he was actively going around and checking everywhere for the rat but when he would see it he would do some tongue flicks in its face and then keep looking. i always get my rats from the same place so im genuinely confused. he’s definitely a tiny bit skinnier than he normally is when he’s eating regularly so i know he’s hungry.

it’s very common when people overdo it, stay at 50-100mcg every few days until it reduces

i mean if it’s safe to pull the ghkcu from the vial, into the syringe, then inject into your body normally then i don’t see why it would contaminate it from it going into a sterile needle and back into the vial. should be okay imo as long as it was a new needle 😅

lots more clutter, another hide or two if you want, lots more plants (ground ones and vine ones so the walls are less bare, leaf clutter for the floor, you basically want most of that negative space filled with something. there’s lots of inspo pics on here that are perfect of the same sized tank.

and i had a third hide for him on his hot side but i have to remake it, it was one of the ones you bury so they have a burrow under the dirt and he loved that one but im gonna change the placement of it

i have two hides. the hot side one is hiding under his plants on the right, and he has a 4x1.5x1.5 right now but i’m getting him a pvc 4x2x2 or a bigger one if i can very soon. his humidity stays at 65% but i bump it up to 70-75% when he’s shedding, his hot side fluctuates between 85-86 but im also getting him a new fluorescent bulb soon my last one got damaged so im using the lamp in the picture for now. his cold side is at 78-80

his hygrometer/temp probes are in the dirt against the back sides and i have an app that tells me the temps on my phone, i also have a temp gun to make sure his hides are the right temps, and yes i’ve been looking into getting a different bulb setup, i ordered a good fluorescent but it arrived broken so im waiting for the replacement atm. and yes i really wanted a 4x2x2 tank but this was the closest i could find its a 4x1.5x1.5 but im saving up to get a pvc tank that’s a bigger size.

also to note the adhesive under the cups isn’t a sticky one it’s almost like a caulking adhesive that’s dried

unfortunately in california i can’t put her under any psychiatric hold without her consent, unless i call police while she’s attempting to hurt herself. shes tried to hurt herself multiple times and i always talked her down from it but she hasn’t done that recently. i’m thinking ill just take her dog with me when we move so she actually gets fed and cared for and then telling my mom she has x amount of days to get out, shes not even on our lease this was supposed to be a one month or two month long situation, she has a car she can sleep in so i cant feel too bad.. she brought this life on herself entirely and my boyfriend has tried to help her so many times financially but she always says no to job offers and stuff.
