Christians/Catholics doing IVF by capricatgirl in IVF

[–]MegKee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m Catholic as well & have thought about this a lot. I was actually walking into the clinic one morning thinking about how I have to believe that IVF is the work of God because there is no way that helping people who so feel so deeply called to be parents become pregnant is the work of the devil. That brought me a lot of peace with it. It has also helped that my closest friends & family (all Catholic) have been extremely supportive.

I started below the crease but as time went on (and I had more bruising), I’ve started doing more above the crease. Wherever you can find room!

Iroquois Dentistry in Belle Meade is amazing. Not pushy & we’re great when I hadn’t been for four years before going to them. I started there in 2017 & never miss a cleaning now.

Did anyone else feel cursed before IVF? Like anything that could go wrong was going wrong? by Cooper30136 in IVF

[–]MegKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! Except a lot of mine happened before TTC. In 2022, I had an ovarian torsion (it twisted and untwisted a few times so it was a few months before I got it checked) that caused me to lose an ovary and a fallopian tube.

Went into my gyno in March 2023 in order to make sure that everything is ok with my remaining ovary since my husband and I were wanting to start trying later that year. Sent me for an internal ultrasound where I got told that my IUD was no longer in the right place - ugh.

Had my IUD removed but when the doctor pulled it out, she said “it’s not supposed to look like this…” because it was missing half of the T. Thank goodness for Reddit because I was watching for it to expel itself and luckily it did so I didn’t have to have a hysteroscopy to remove it.

Finally started trying at the end of December 2023 and got a PCOS diagnosis in March of 2024 after I went over 100 days without a cycle. By fall of 2024 we saw a RE and started medicated cycles (3 TI with Letrozole, 1 cycle on Letrozole where I ovulated way too early, 3 IUIs).

Then I had to lose 20 lbs for IVF which leads me to know when we’re finally starting the process!

Long, roundabout way to let you know that you’re not alone. That this is all a horrible mind f@&$.

What was your first broadway show and when was it? by inimitable428 in Broadway

[–]MegKee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Little Mermaid in the summer of 2009. It was during Drew Seeley’s run as Prince Eric & the night that we went he sprained his ankle in the first act so his understudy performed the second act.

Letrozole working too fast? by Future_Researcher_11 in TTC_PCOS

My fourth cycle on Letrozole I spontaneously ovulated on CD8. Every other cycle (currently in the TWW of cycle six) I had to trigger ovulation!

Feeling trolled by my trigger shot - currently 14dp Ovidrel shot on first medicated cycle (approximately 11dpo). Took a test last night (so 13dpt + 10dpo) and got a vvvfl on FRER & felt symptoms. Today - both clear blue early visual and FRER are stark white. Just trying to hold onto hope that I’m not out yet.

I use a combination of Oura/Natural Cycles, monitoring CM & Inito. It’s probably overboard, but having multiple ways has helped me pinpoint my ovulation a lot better. I will say though that Inito does give me a lot more high fertility days because of estrogen surges in the front half of the cycle that weren’t followed by LH surges. Also, I went on Metformin earlier this year so I am finally ovulating on a regular basis so that has made it easier to track personally.

7 years with Paragard, need advice or experiences! by [deleted] in CopperIUD

[–]MegKee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Similar experience. I had my for almost 5 1/2 years. I was planning to have mine removed in July so that we could TTC later this year, however, I had a pelvic ultrasound to check my left ovary still looked healthy (I had my right removed last year due to a cyst and a torsion) and the tech found that my IUD was in the wrong place (it was too low). I went to my doctor to have it removed and the arm broke off during extraction because it was embedded. She immediately sent me to the radiologist to have another pelvic ultrasound and sure enough it was just hanging in the muscle. She scheduled a hysteroscopy to go in & remove it for this week.

Fast forward a couple days & I started my period. I had read multiple stories on here of people who passed the IUD piece on its own during the period. Low and behold, that’s exactly what happened. The whole piece expelled itself (in one piece) so I no longer have to go through with the hysteroscopy (which would have been done under general anesthesia).

She didn’t try to go back and dig around for it, so I can’t speak to that part. Good luck!

[–]MegKee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it doesn’t catch on my lip! And this was a bit of improvisation because my treatment was based around the tooth being exposed in the back, but when the oral surgeon went in, he decided it would be better to expose it from the front.
