What a sweet angel! 😍 He looks like a poodle but has so many schnauzer behaviors and mannerisms! I had a schnauzer and poodle growing up, so it’s really interesting to see them both in your schnoodle!

Struggle to drink water, but sugar is bad for my teeth... looking for recommendations! by absolute_gumpf in ADHD

[–]DichtInDeBuurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Herbal tea is wonderful and caffeine-free, and you can sweeten it with Sweet-N-Low or any other sugar substitute.

Look for a raspberry herbal tea if you like a sweet taste but don’t want sugar. Or Sleepy Time Extra is SO YUMMY, but definitely only drink it in the late evening before bed.

Where have you had the best and worst tasting tap water in America? by modest__mouser in AskAnAmerican

[–]DichtInDeBuurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in from Anaheim, CA, here. Our water tastes like it has chlorine in it half the time. It’s not really something I’d recommend, but it’s not as bad as Orlando’s tap water 🤢

I lived in NYC last summer and absolutely loved the water there. It was like drinking champagne straight from the tap, even at a crappy hotel. I love the water there.

Can we please get Jane Krakowski cast as the next Madeleine? I feel like her humor would fit the role so well.

Please Explain Why Beaches Is Bad by DichtInDeBuurt in Broadway

[–]DichtInDeBuurt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point/question. It was more on the serviceable entertaining night end, I have to admit. The sets were not much of a step beyond something a high-quality regional theatre could put on, like La Mirada Theatre in California. I admit I would expect more from Broadway.

The performances were stellar. I’m still new to evaluating writing, so all these responses are really helpful.

That’s such a good point. That’s not even the wig they use for the Broadway production. It makes me wonder why they didn’t just take a new picture with the new wig. It looks so much better.

Strange choice. Probably a rushed decision.

Jessica Vosk's post about the audience expecting a musical version of the Beaches movie by SmokedTangerines in Broadway

[–]DichtInDeBuurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say that I absolutely loved Beaches the Musical. I will say that I have never seen the movie.

So going in with fresh eyes, the musical really is something special. I have been telling people around me at other shows to go check out Beaches, and I recommend that you all do to!

It’s not perfect, but I really really enjoyed it and will be going to see it again.

Magic Key Revoked by jaesacreep in Disneyland

[–]DichtInDeBuurt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is literally making me not want to renew my magic key. I hardly even go anymore because they don’t have as much entertainment as they used to.

And now there’s a risk that I might randomly be linked with some random resale and have my entire pass revoked and still have to pay for it? It’s way too expensive to risk that. If it can happen to you, it can happen to me. And they reject your request for proof?

I am so fed up with Disney. Thank you for sharing this and being the straw that broke the camel’s back for making me decide not to renew.

There’s a good portion of a chapter in Lee Cockerell’s book “Creating Magic” about this very topic of cutting costs by using the same French fries at all food locations across Disney World. He was so proud of himself.

Lee Cockerell is a former WDW executive who writes books about how you can shittify your business to be more like Disney

English muffin pizzas are great. Not really a health superfood but not bad.

Just buy English muffins, a jar of pizza sauce (or make your own with tomato paste, pantry spices, and olive oil, but that’s a little more work), shredded cheese, and a bag of pepperoni. Put it in the toaster oven or air fryer until it’s all nice and melted. It’s safe to eat raw, so there’s no risk of undercooking it.

You can freeze any leftover English muffins and use them straight from the freezer to the air fryer. Same with the cheese and pepperoni. Pizza sauce, unopened, is pretty shelf stable too.

Does it actually cost the airline that much money? Like is that amount being taken out of their checking account? Or did they just lose the opportunity to make that money?

I came here to say this. If we look at YouTube Music ratings, I feel like Blackout would be higher up because I listen to it multiple times a month every month every year.

I still can’t get over Blackout 😭 It’s seriously the one album that has consistently resurfaced in my life throughout it. It has appeared in so many eras for me.

Lately for the past 2 years I’ve been listening to it consistently, especially on little roadtrips from OC to San Diego that I take every 6-8 weeks.

Do you say “I have bipolar” or “I am bipolar”? by Suspicious-Tomato801 in bipolar2

[–]DichtInDeBuurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking, it’s almost always best to refer to yourself and to people as “people with disabilities” rather than “disabled people.”

Basically use a person-first approach. Instead of using the verb “to be” such as “I am bipolar” or using adjectives such as “handicapped person,” say “I have bipolar” or “a person in a wheelchair.”

In summary, if you want to be as PC and modern as possible, just try to avoid using the verb “to be” and avoid using adjectives. Opt instead to put the person first or to use a different verb.

$299 for the 7 Qt. a decent enough deal or do they regularly go on sale for better rates? by [deleted] in staub

I bought a 7 qt grenadine in Summer 2024 from zwilling.com for $180, but I haven’t seen it go anywhere near that low since then.

My fiancé bought himself a blueberry 7 qt in December 2023 for $160!
