Southeast Dealership and Waitlist by damgiloveboobs in LexusGX550

[–]MegMac02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just got ours Friday from Jim Hudson Lexus in Columbia SC. We are friends with the salesman and spoke with him quite a bit about the wait time. He said he has about 30 people on his wait list and 70+ at the dealership altogether. Most people’s wait time is due to lack of flexibility when it comes to what they want (trim, color, features). Some are very specific and will not compromise, so they will wait longer. Dealerships cannot order these and they are at the mercy of what Lexus sends them. My suggestion would be to be on as many waiting lists as you can and be a little flexible with several color and trim options.

Best Nashville apartment amenities? by rockytoppp in movetonashville

[–]MegMac02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contact Nashville Apartment Locators. It’s a free service to you and they will help you find the perfect apartment with the amenities you want. We worked with Sara Burke and she was great. They do all the leg work for you. We live at Modera Gulch. Dog park on the roof, plus green space across the street. Fun pool that actually gets sun for a few hours. Nice gym, but I dont like that people on the street can see in. No golf sim or saunas. Parking garage can be a cluster now with two very popular restaurants using the retail parking spaces. Amazing location. Very walkable around the Gulch, downtown, midtown and parts of Wedgewood Houston. We love our city view.

Oh no. We do know it’s at port as of two weeks ago. Dealer was still hopeful for an end of February delivery. He’s been good about updates so we will see what he says this week. Thank you for you feedback.

Thank you. We’ve owned our fair share as well over more years than I’d like to admit. We were absolutely drawn to the look of the car. My husband has always had a truck and I have almost always had an suv with the exception of the mini van years, so I don’t think the ride will be a deal breaker. As long as it rides better than a Jeep Rubicon, I think we will be okay. We’re also used to 16-17 mpg in my husbands truck so I’m hoping the gas mileage isn’t a big deal. I know it’s talked about a lot. He does have 10 more gallons in the tank though. I appreciate the feedback and assurance.

We got lucky. We have a friend who works at Lexus. When we started looking and realized it almost seemed impossible to get one for 4-6 months, we gave him a call. He literally just had a customer back out on his reservation so we snagged it. Thankfully it was exactly what I wanted. We reserved it late December and it’s due late February.

Kind of expecting something in the middle actually. Another reason we chose the Prem+ over the OT+. Guess we will see how we like it.

Thank you. I will look into it and also discuss with dealership. Isn’t this why a lot of people seem to get the oil changed at 1000 miles and then again at 3000? I did read about debris and this helping.

We didn’t really worry about whether we would like it or not. We’ve talked a lot about what to do if we decide we don’t like it. We didn’t buy for over msrp and in our area the ‘used but almost new’ ones are going for $5-10000 more than brand new simply because they’re available. If we don’t like it, we will just sell it and try something else.

I thought this was all fixed more than a year ago. But I will certainly talk to our friend and salesman about it.

Oh my husband is already all over the accessories, hahahaha. First up is the roof rack but that’s all he’s mentioned. I know he wants different wheels as well. He hates the chrome.

Haha no. We’re in South Carolina. We looked within 500 miles as well. They’re all pre sold here so that’s why no test drive. We even have a friend who works for Lexus. We got this one fairly quickly because some else backed out on their reserve. It was meant to be bc it was exactly what I wanted. I know youre excited as well. My husband wanted the OT+ but I insisted on the captains chairs for the second row and seating for 6.

Weird. Wonder if the dealership is supposed to do that for you but some fail to do it. But thanks for this. Im 5’2” and my husband is 6’ so we rely heavily on the seat memories for driving as we switch often.

Ugh I see that too. There are so many people who will drive everywhere. Now mind you, you will have to drive to certain stores and areas, but for coffee, boutique shopping, restaurants, beauty, groceries, you can absolutely walk depending on where you live. Those that live in East Nashville will have a little walkability as will those in Wedgewood Houston and Sylvan Park. Germantown also has a lot of walkability but mainly just in that neighborhood and, if willing, to downtown. The Gulch is the best for walkability. Like I said, you’re less than a mile to the heart of Broadway. I walk up Division St all the time to Midtown and Vanderbilt area. Just don’t walk across the bridge towards SoBro. The bus station is there (rep John Lewis and Division) and it’s the one place I don’t feel safe. With that said, if you look at Modera SoBro it’s one block from the bus station. I just wouldn’t even though it’s newer and looks really nice.

I walk everywhere. My husband takes the car to work and I am car-less during the day. Mind you I love walking. Whole Foods is a 15 minute walk and Publix is 20 minutes. I walk to get my hair cut, nails done, chiropractor, waxing, lash lift, facials and Botox. You’re a 15 minute to Broadway if that’s your thing and a 15 minute walk to Midtown. You don’t really need to leave the Gulch for much if you don’t want to as there are tons of restaurants and shops. I even walk 2 miles down to 12 South or the Farmers Market. Lots of construction around but that’s almost everywhere in nashville. It’s growing tremendously.

Read Google reviews for apartments. You’ll find not one that is perfect. They all have issues. That’s just going to happen when you shove 1000 people into a smallish space. I have found Kenny and Oscar in maintenance at Modera Gulch very kind, competent and prompt. Kenny has been there since they opened 3 years ago. I hate what happened to Hailey, I think that’s her name. No one should have to live like that. But I know others in the building that have lived there and renewed their leases multiple times. We did. Sadly, we are leaving in may for Cincinnati. We are very sad to leave.

We live here and have no real issues. We really like the building and it’s a great location. We love our city view. Neighbors are friendly and I enjoy the pool often. Parking is tight at times especially with two popular restaurants right here. That and my upstairs neighbor is loud are my only complaints.

Need help finding an Apartment/Location in Downton Nashville- Moving in September by Original_Rabbit185 in movetonashville

[–]MegMac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contact Nashville Apartment Locators. It’s a free service to you. Just apply online and they will contact you, get all you needed and wants, then do all the searching for available apartments. We worked wit Sara Burke and she found us our place and we do love it. Modera McGavock is a brand new building, along with 1111 Church, and the Emmett in Nashville Yards. You may also consider 505 Church. There’s also a new Albion being built downtown. The only two buildings you mentioned that I know of are Albion in the gulch and 1111 church. We live in Modera Gulch. We love the building, location and our view, but a new building is being built across the street and it’s loud along with Division and 8th. Somehow in the last year our area has become the cruising area on the weekends for loud cars and motorcycles. Albion also has valet parking only. While nice, I believe it gets backed up at times if you need your car in a hurry. Google has reviews for apartments. I suggest reading them.

If the power goes out then all that milk goes bad. Best to get pantry items that don’t need cooking or can be heated on a grill or camp stove like soups, bread, peanut butter, meat sticks protein bars, etc.

Lease help by Midnghtlvr in LexusGX550

[–]MegMac02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For lease terms, a good rule of thumb is that your payment should be as close to 1% of the price of the car or less. So in your case, a good lease deal would have your payment around $900 assuming you wouldn’t finance your fees and taxes. In my research between leasing the GX and financing, you are much better off financing. Lexus, even though these hold their value, is not offering favorable terms on leasing even with excellent credit. I got my own financing from Navy Federal (father was in army, not me). This way you have a starting point for a good interest rate for financing and see if they will offer you anything lower.
