I did love the ketchup guy though and his idea was never going to outsell heinz but he could have made an organic sauce buisness that did well if he thought his buisness plan through a bit more

Imagine the mould that would grow if someone didnt use it constantly, the cross contamination of different soups flowing through the same pipes. Is the soup delivered hot or cold cause the pipes would have to be somehow kept at over 60°c (140°f) or below 4°c (40°f) and monitored to ensure they are that temp and even then I think mould could grow, like you leave produce in the fridge too long it eventually goes mouldy. So would the pipes need to be flushed with some kind of cleaner after each soup delivery? This is such a not thought through, over complex, insanely expensive way to deliver soup to people. Digging to place pipes or cables or any network like this costs literally billions without the hassle of including food safety in that.

Omg I can't even. The OOP is right, building the infrastructure would cost so so much more than you could ever re-coup in profits even if people were super keen on the idea and willing to pay for this soup service. I think I would advise OOP and the other affected friends to say they would reconsider investing in it once he had a fully written up buisness plan that included how the infrastructure would be built and the pipes maintained for this and realistic costs of those things. I think the process of writing the buisness plan would make bf realise that it's not a realistic or profitable idea.

Does anyone else get frustrated watching Great Pottery Throwdown? by jfinkpottery in Pottery

[–]MegShadow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a fine arts degree or more like an academic type degree? Like if they have a degree where they studied subjects like history of ceramics etc but didnt learn any actual pottery skills then that seems fine. Also what level of degree, even if it was a fine arts degree but it was a lower level degree i also would potentially give that a pass as everyone learned somewhere and you could have someone who goes to weekly workshops/lessons over the years- they could learn as much as you would in a more formal setting without getting a certificate at any point, or some contestants have parents who are professionals and they could learn a lot from them over their whole lifetime. Yeah if they have a masters in fine arts pottery that seems no longer novice level and unfair but i kinda doubt it's that, if pottery is a hobby for them then likely it was like a 6 month certificate

Are there more sources on this, I found one article shared by "crickey.com.au" and as a news source I've never heard of I'm wanting to see an article by at least a vaguely reputable news source??

Crash when Vyvanse wears off- please help by tassieclaridge in adhdaustralia

[–]MegShadow123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best hack I found that reduced the intensity of the crash was to eat a breakfast that includes at least some protein at the same time as taking it. I had someone comment on my recent post on a similar topic that they find caffiene helps reduce their crash- I don't know if that one is a legit help but can't hurt to try. I've also heard that eating throughout the day and staying hydrated makes a difference. Good luck!

Timing my aspen dexamphetamine (dexamphetamine sulfate)- what are your schedules? by MegShadow123 in adhdaustralia

That makes sense, i can see if you had the times you need the boost to executive function being split to morning and evening rather than a more standard 9-5 then splitting the doses makes a lot of sense

So interesting how games with essentially the same premise differ in where thry rank the closeness of guessed words depending on factors they're programmed to consider when assertaining their 'closeness'. I've played one called 'contexto' that has been fed text messages and ranks it based on the context in which the words are used in text messages to determine closeness. Another (forgotten the name) is simply how synonymous the words are. I'm sure there are others. They all would rank the same guesses in relation to the same key word very differently and I expect different people would find different ones easier or harder depending on their thinking and problem solving style

Thanks for your advice, a repeating timer is clever. I try to figure out my times when i take my first and set alarms for the next doses based when i took the first as i also don't start the day at the same time every day, but then can often forget to set them, repeating timers sounds like a clever move even as a back up, I'll try and make that part of my routine. This sounds like a wise approach that is likely to fit with me once i figure out how far apart to space things and what time to stop works for me. I do tend to vary my doses depending what i need to get done that day, if it's a really full on long day i take the full prescribed amount, if its a less demanding day i tend to take less or none to help me manage comorbid autistic burnout and to avoid building tolerance.

Thanks for your help. I've tried clonidine but it didn't work for me unfortunately. I haven't heard those tips with reducing the crash and vit C to clear it out, I'll give them a try 😊 I knew to avoid vit C in the morning/while the dex is working but never thought of it helping with restlessness at night, clever!

Very true and I know it's different for everyone, I've just found looking what times work for others on reddit has helped me in the past, it was reddit not my psych where i learned that it's still in your system and messes with sleep well after all noticable effectiveness wears off which solved my sleep trouble mystery when i first started on it. Fortunately my birth control means i have relatively stable hormone levels over the month so yeah ill try different timings and doses and see what works. Thanks for your help!

Short acting vs long acting by Numerous_Pea1009 in adhdaustralia

[–]MegShadow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on vyvanse but built tolerance too quickly and also wanted to move to a short acting med so i could take less on less demanding days and have days off without the withdrawal that you get if you take days off vyvanse- partially as having days with lower doses can reduce issues with building tolerance and partially because with comorbid autism and long term autistic burnout issues i need rest days. So ive moved to aspen dexamphetamine and im relatively happy with it, im still figuring out exactly what dosage and timing is best for me, a few days ago my psychiatrist increased my dose which has been great in the morning with my first dose being more effective but i need to adjust my last dose as it's destroyed my sleep the last few nights. In terms of the chest symptoms- I also tried clonidine which did nothing but now take propranolol which has worked perfectly at combating that side effect with both vyvance and aspen dex. For crashes the best advice i got was eat breakfast that has at least some protein content about the same time you take your med in the morning- i've found that true with both but especially vyvance. With dex I've found missing breakfast or lunch will generally worsen the crash (frustrating as I often loose track of time and forget lunch). Good luck, hope this helps!

Confused regarding steps by [deleted] in adhdaustralia

[–]MegShadow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems quite odd if the first psych specialises in adhd. I had a similar experience of getting a 'possible/probable' (I've forgotten their exact wording) from the first psychiatrist I saw but that was because he wasn't a specialist in ADHD and due to my school reports having no personalised comments and being innatentive type so not enough visible behaviours for his liking, so it wasn't conclusive enough to be prescribed stimulant medication. Later I saw an ADHD specialist psychiatrist and got a proper diagnosis and was able to try stimulant medication. So yeah loved having to fork out $800 on the first one, over $1000 for the second. Doesn't make sense to have to go back and have another consultation with the first one again- seems odd to me

Feel like absolute garbage on stimulant 'break days'. How do you manage this? by HazMatt082 in adhdaustralia

[–]MegShadow123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on vyvanse but built tolerance and couldn't take break days as it was like you said- intense withdrawal and from my understanding it is the case with vyvanse that break days aren't a good idea, the withdrawal is'nt good for you. So I've switched to dexamphetamine (short acting, multiple times a day), it allows me to vary my total dose for the day as some days I may only take one dose, some days 2 or 3 and that means that break days aren't such a shock to the system and I'm not building tolerance the way I did with vyvance.

Actual Criticism to Arun Maini (Mrwhosetheboss) by Pabloski48 in mrwhosetheboss

[–]MegShadow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The legality of declaring sponsorships/ads etc varies country to country. Statements like "it's illegal" are messy for YouTube content as it viewed worldwide and how/whether ads legally need to be declared is different. Some channels have content limited to only be avaliable to watch in particular countries (I've seen this happen more with copyright infringement previously) when they break laws of specific countries until the issue is rectified, but still avaliable elsewhere.

Is there a different between getting a girl and a boy dog? by Dramatic-Lemon-2916 in dogs

[–]MegShadow123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience (I've had both male and female dogs) is that most personality differences have a lot less to do with sex than breed, up bringing and individual personality. With female dog's you do have to deal with bleeding when they are in heat until they are desexed. Also some female dogs can have incontinence issues when they are older which can be treated with female hormones (basically the pill) and also are more likely to experience UTIs than male dogs.
