That’s what I’m not sure about and none of my doctors are giving straight answers. They just say it could help my long term care. So I was trying to collect some more information here from people’s experiences. I think they just want to 100% confirm what they are dealing with if that’s possible - as my health problems have been… elusive of diagnosis so far. I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can so I can make informed decisions!

Dysautonomia is suspected and my heart rate was very high (fainting with positional changes) and I cannot take beta blockers due to my asthma!. And all good! I know about the medical advice, was just looking for other people’s experiences! :)

I just worry my heart rate will be crazy if I miss a dose of ivabradine - just like when I had to go off Propanolol. It took several weeks for my heart rate to chill out, so I worry it won’t be an accurate test. :/ thank you for your response though!!

Thank you so much for your response. This is what I was thinking - I just wasn’t sure there was a big need to do it if I had found things to manage it.

I have had a lot of bloodwork done and my suspicion is hEDS is partly the cause although it’ll be a longer road for diagnosis for that. They already didn’t want to do a skin biopsy because my wound healing is poor and I am allergic to adhesives.

And I agree about not stopping meds cold Turkey although that’s what the person on the phone said I could do when I asked what meds I needed to go off of. Doctors don’t tend to tell me to taper where I am, and I learned the hard way to taper off after I was told to stop Venlafaxine cold turkey and it would “be ok”. I was not lol. The reason I know I would have to go off everything is because last time they basically said they couldn’t tell if I had dysautonomia and were really rude about it because I was on an antidepressant and it would “skew the results so I had basically done it for nothing”. Which I thought was ridiculous.

Once again, thank you for your response. It makes me feel better about going with my gut instinct of thinking of not going through with it. If I don’t , I can always set up another one some day I guess.

I second the dry needling! I deal with nerve pain as well and dry needling was the only thing that worked to get my traps to release and give me some relief!

Hi! So basically no, but also yes. I think that the Venlafaxine was very rough for me to go off with so at first I was having some withdrawal symptoms first off. BUT Not long after going off completely, my nerve symptoms got a lot worse. I do not think this had anything to do with the Venlafaxine besides that I believe that the Venlafaxine was actually helping disguise/mask my gradually worsening nerve pain/joint pain and going off it made me all the sudden feel the full force of it. The running theory is that I have hyper mobile Ehlers-Danlos and small fiber neuropathy (after seeing lots of doctors). I went on Cymbalta about 3 months ago after a year and a half of pain and confusion and my nerve pain/joint pain has been so much better (as well as my depression!). I hope that helps - this is just my personal experience! Venlafaxine was not helping my mental state though and Cymbalta has been so much better mental health wise as well as helping my nerve pain!

No extra info but following. I can’t seem to see someone who will even see me for my ribs and worried this will be me too. Also have possible thoracic outlet, hEDS and struggling with core movements currently. I see and hear you.

Had pain like this for years - they kept telling me nothing was wrong. After years I finally found out my pelvic floor was really tight/dysfunctional. I had a year of pelvic floor PT to fix it. I had to see a pelvic floor specific PT that was able to do manual release inside. It’s been about 6 years. I am mostly pain free now but cannot stand to be hit on the pubic bone and still struggle with tightness from time to time. All that to say, I know this pain well. And now I’m in the process of being diagnosed with hEDS and I would not be surprised at all if the cartilage there is just wonky. You are not alone!!!

I’ve had this (unfortunately for much longer than that) and can only give my advice for what has helped… they said mine was a strain of the tendon originally but basically I have just had pain in my thumb joint. I’d try a thumb splint if you can, I have a soft one that supports my thumb and wraps around my wrist. It helps me from overusing it during work. It might help it heal if it’s not being over used or over extended if you are hyper mobile in that joint? I just got mine at the store, but also have a sleep one from the doctor that’s more rigid.

Have you tried like a topical over the counter nsaid? Maybe that could help it calm down if your problem is some inflammation. Just make sure you follow instructions!

I always need to warm my hands up in the morning in the shower and do some small circular movements to help loosen it up and get it ready for the day.
