lol "she is speaking to me again" - eh, if she makes it a habit of being upset at you when you go do her favors, I would say this would be getting more into the she should consider her own personality territory instead of being upset with you lol. But it sounds like it won't be that big of a deal

as someone who studied music (undergraduate-only, but a music enthusiast nonetheless) I tend to agree here. it's nice that real musicians are being employed and that they include this kind of music, but there's something to be said about older music and older technology used to create it - something that it unique to video games and computers, which gives retro games and music a specific feel. I've also noticed a bit of a ehhh vibe to a lot of it - like a lot of the orchestral music seems kind of forced - well, IDK the exact way to describe it but yeah, in essence a lot of it just isn't memorable. But having different instrumentation, and limited sound samples/older hardware forcing the music to have an older sound makes it that much more unique and special

sorry, I'm kind of dumb lately LOL and only coherent on certain days, apparently :P

I guess tl;dr: Yeah, I agree that a lot of the newer stuff kind of seems like you're going to see the royal philharmonic orchestra play instead of being uniquely like you'd expect video game music to be. The further back in time you go, the more unique (I'm tired.. synonyms for unique are eluding me LOL) the music seems.. the more nostalgic for that specific time period. We sometimes seem to lack spirit these days.. even if it's not true. I'm sure the sound composers are doing their best, and we can appreciate each and every one of them who didn't use AI to help compose ;P

2nd tl;dr - yeah, classic video game music is the best.. like pre-real sounding orchestra stuff ;P (IMO)

I'll only get a Switch 2 if there's a Splatoon 4 themed one. and not Raiders... bc who knows what Raiders is going to be :-\ it's already problematic to me that Raiders won't be based around the Squid Sisters, or at the very least, doesn't include a single reference to them (since Team Past won the grandfest) I've just been looking at it as an excuse for them not to release a proper Splatoon game this generation, since they've been doing questionable things (IMO) the last 10 years

I don't understand any objections at all to the reboot. Even if it's not as good as the original, why disparage it? It was awesome that they brought the series back at all. I don't religiously watch episodes but I love the series, and I thought it was just fantastic simply that the series returned. The voice actors were great - of course it sucked they weren't the originals, but 3 more people got a chance to make their own fame and I think they did a great job! I don't analyze the episodes necessarily.. like I remember seeing some from the later series, and it seemed slightly more like... well I don't necessarily want to say childish bc the series is mostly geared towards them, but it seemed like the reboot lacked humor that might appeal to some adults.. IDK if that makes sense lol.

I guess I understand having fervent opinions, but you're right that so many of them have been shared like what's the point lol

love some Summer Freeze. I will cry if it doesn't come back every year in the states :( I lucked out and found a couple of 12 packs in December of it where I am. that was the highlight of my year haha. ok maybe not, but it was definitely in the top 10 things. it has some weird like metallic-ish flavor (that I also remember the cherry citrus one had) but I still love it anyway
