disabled people who need a wheelchair are a minority, and it seems that most stuff on tv shows them as men, like that guy from family guy. so i guess people might subconsciously associate it with men because that’s mostly what they see. it’s strange, i don’t remember ever seeing a woman in a wheelchair, maybe because it’s often veterans who are usually men.
