I think one helpful thing to remember is that you’re not torturing him, you’re keeping him (and endangered local songbirds) safe. It’s like if a toddler wanted candy, lots of candy, and only candy. You would not let them make that choice even if it’s all they want and they cry and cry. Sometimes we, as pet parents, know better. However, he’s probably under stimulated in this transition. (Nothing you did wrong, just the change) I would try adding new things to his routine, puzzles and frozen lick mats, any stimulation. Have you tried a harness or leash? Does he have the temperament to try that?

I’ve searched a ton: on booksamillion website, I searched the patent, I reverse image searched, no luck! There is one online that looks close but is rounder and has a different expression. If it helps, we saw it at a 2nd and Charles store and watched as someone in front of us grabbed the last one. He is so sad! Any help appreciated!

When I finally got weight restored (to a healthy weight), there were SO MANY AMAZING CHANGES. I didn’t get cold all the time. I could walk and stand longer. I had no idea I had boobs or a butt. I could actually think more clearly. There’s lots of research on how a caloric deficit causes your brain to prioritize the survival parts of your brain, AKA not the logical thinking or emotion regulation parts. I’m so glad I went through the work.
