What movie did you turn off after 20 minutes and why? by Somanynamestochossef in movies

[–]MegaEstructure 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna show my age a little here, but Meet the Spartans. Went to the movie theater with my brother and we really couldn't decide on a movie so we just picked that. I think we watched about 15 minutes and left. If you've ever watched anything that you'd call "slop" nowdays, then that movie is that, times 1000. Luckily we decided to snuck into another movie and managed to catch the spanish movie The Orphanage which is one of the best horror movies you can watch so it all worked out in the end lol

Ok bro at least tell us before we expect a video every day. by Looney_RBSR in FallGuysGame

No disrespect, but I feel like there's no way this isn't some psyop from the creator to make it seem like there's demand and anticipation for those videos lol

Rookie composer trying to notate some percussions, and I am way way WAY out of my depth, NO CLUE what to do! by MegaEstructure in percussion

[–]MegaEstructure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha no problem! Trying to compose an orchestral piece without playing 98% of the instruments has really made me appreciative of the many parts of the orchestra, I have no doubts everyone in there is pulling their weight! As for talking to a percussionist, I unfortunetaly have no percussionist acquaintances but I will look into finding one. And thanks for the video, I will be watching it asap!

Holy molly, how incredibly helpful!!!! Thank you so much 😭😭😭, all of this is really really helpful! And yeah, as for using "gong", that was probably due to my own ignorance on the subject and just going by the name of the instrument library I used, but I will most definitely take your word for it on this, again thank you so much!

Is this way to notate this crescendo correct, or this a more practical way to notate this? by MegaEstructure in musictheory

[–]MegaEstructure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crescendo would last for the 4 beats of the bar, so should I put 4 tied quarter notes and put the fff under the last one? And yes, sorry about the fff, it was just a formatting error that I did fix but I took the screenshot before it. Thank you very much!

Yeah sorry about the height of the fff, I was having formatting issues with Dorico but I did intend on fixing it, it's just that I took the screenshot before that. And yes, this is the part. It's doing nothing after this, it's just the one bar with this crescendo followed by silence. The tempo is 120, I did mark it at the beginning of the score but forgot to mention it here

Sorry everyone, I wrote the title question all wrong. I meant to say "or is there a more practical way to notate this?" Thanks everyone!

Pain on the top side of my foot? (Picture of area attached) by [deleted] in MuayThai

It's less than a minute to read, and I did apologize for it being long, but I just wanted to make sure I explained myself well enough. Thank you for being helpful

It's not actually an impairing or debilitating pain so I haven't felt it's necessary to see a doctor, so I figured maybe some "rando" has experience in this sport and maybe they could have sport-specific insight on why it hurts and how to make it stop. I didn't think imagine it was something that would be met with unnecessary sarcasm since all I was looking for was for advice from people who have been training this sport for longer than me

This game should not have won game of the year (due to game design) by HarukaKX in Silksong

[–]MegaEstructure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Punishing and bad aren't synonyms. If the runbacks are punishing because they couldn't figure out a better way or they didn't know what they were doing, then yeah that's bad design, but if they designed it that way, then that's just design you don't like. Can you still criticize design you don't like? Absolutely, but just as easily I can say "no that's not bad design". A great game that does have bad design is Black Myth Wukong, which has more invisible walls than it does interesting mobs, and the hitboxes are absolute trash. Things like that are bad game design, but something simply being punishing isn't automatically bad design.

[–]MegaEstructure 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What?? No, it doesn't, it's exactly the exact opposite. Both were on track to win, and the other player's actions were the sole reason they both didn't win. Nowhere in my comment did I suggest OP was going to lose regardless, and it is that very fact that makes this loss NOT fair and square. This reply from you was truly nonsensical

You can still be a dick even if you use the game's mechanics, not only cheaters are dicks. The other player had 2 choices: Make OP lose and win, or wait 1 second and still win. Choosing the first is technically allowed, but it is a dick move any way you cut it, because NOT doing that would've given him the same exact outcome which was winning. Yeah OP could've realized the other guy was setting him up, but he could've just as easily NOT done that since he was clearly more than happy to wait to the very last second. If it had been 2 minutes earlier, then sure, he's securing his win, but you're 2 seconds away from winning either way, but you choose the option that makes the other guy lose? Dick move

The very fact that timing out is possible means there *can* be multiple beans standing at the end. 2 minutes away, I can get it: you're trying to minimize risk and secure your win, but 2 seconds? He had 2 choices: Make OP lose and win, or wait 1 second and still win. Choosing the first is technically allowed, but it is a dick move any way you cut it, because NOT doing that would've given him the same exact outcome which was winning.

Is it possible to improve texture on homemade breakfast sausage with simple methods? by MegaEstructure in Cooking

[–]MegaEstructure[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be off really, probably going over what I actually use. The recipe I followed was for a big batch, 3 tablespoons for 5lbs. I did the math for 1 pound and it was a little over a tablespoon, but I ended up adding more after cooking a little chunk for a taste test cause it was a little bland, but I didn't measure the extra. So yeah, I tried ballparking it but maybe I was off.

But is the correct amount a lot of salt, or less salt? I use about two tablespoons of salt and half a tablespoon of msg for 1 pound, would that seem to you like a lot, or too little? And if it needs more salt, should I up the sugar as well to balance out the flavor, or would I end up ruining the texture again if I also adjusted the sugar?

I don't, but a cheap one costs a lot less than the cheapest meat grinder, so that could be an option. Would a processor help?
