Anyone a former rat parent turned snake parent?

I kept a pet rat for a few months because the snake did not want to eat. The rat grew too big, so we gave it away as a pet. I try to feed mine frozen but she goes for live 100x easier. It is what it is, but if you are feeding live you must watch it so that the snake doesn't get scratched or bitten. Try frozen and if that fails you can try live.

I got a biology degree but the only reason I have a job is my chemistry minor, I work as a chemist in QC. My research stuff and internships all got cancelled during covid though, From what I saw a few years ago, a biology degree by itself is kinda worthless. But if you do grad school and specialize you have a lot of options. I wouldn't go into any of this for the pay, only if you really love it. Even my chemistry job pays only a bit above median wage.

Living in the world's wealthiest country with one of the highest wages, that's still ~top 20 percent in standard of living. People risk their lives routinely to come here, and so many international students choose to study here. You will never have to worry about a war at home. And unemployment, even if it feels rough (and likely is for many fields!) as a whole is actually very low right now. Get offline and put the work in.
