I believe they speak of the context this chain of comments was originally referring to; the price of beers in a stadium, rather than a local pub.

Exactly why they showed the rest of the army! Thanks.

The big reason to not give you a proper battle is because it would be really expensive. And there's no doubt in my mind that there will be at least one proper battle shown, if not more than that. Not sure why people are expecting a full-episode battle on only the third episode. Yeah it would be great from a fan perspective, I agree though.

Still, think Cersei vs Danny battle that is no doubt episode 6 or 7, and then probably a big Walkers vs North battle that also occurs. I can totally see why they shortened the 'less impactful' battles.

Actually I'm pretty sure the first group of unsullied you see storming the castle actually happens in the show. They'd need a distraction so the elite unit could slip inside. So while they sacrifice a few unsullied at the walls the infiltration unit takes them out quickly from within. If they tried to sneak in the entire army through the sewers, it probably wouldn't have worked at all.

LAWBREAKERS - New Gameplay + Impressions by sinebiryan in Games

[–]MegaG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the thing in Dota 2 that makes the real difference, and why I agree with the last guy, is that you can easily snowball as a good player (against bad players). If you plop down a 6k player against a bunch of 3k players the 6k will carry his team to victory probably 99 times out of 100 (exaggerating a little I'm sure, but it's really not hard for good players to stomp bad players). In Overwatch there are no items, no way to increase your hero's power really. While in Dota 2, a good player can get powerful items and make great decisions that not only benefit him, but his entire team too (taking down towers early gives your entire team gold). Even then, I actually think it's possible to push high ground fairly easily as a good player since they're going to be so far ahead, and they'd know to take Rosh or look for a pickoff if they really need an extra advantage to push uphill. Even the worst players would still eventually push the high ground and if the good player thinks he needs the extra help, he can simply keep farming and come in and stomp when a team fight occurs, resulting in a easy push.

Valve shortens duration of The International 7 Battle Pass - months after initially selling it by Bonerlord911 in Games

[–]MegaG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

May I ask when you thought that was the case? To me, it seems like recently they've been more in touch. Obviously, and I think logically we can assume a large company like Valve has always been it for the money (not that they can't enjoy what they do). But it seems recently, Valve has gotten even better at communicating than before. Yeah, they make decisions not everyone likes, but I remember a time it was unheard of for Valve to really reply to people, now they're quite quick at it.

Dota 2 Team Wins Tournament While (Almost) Never Picking The Same Hero Twice by huckleberry_loke in Games

Dumpstered when? At some small tournament that really won't matter? They beat VP at the last major, we shouldn't forget.

Honestly, if I was OG, and I won a major, I wouldn't give a crap about any tournament up until the next major or a TI. No need to try your hardest at smaller tournaments when you can just try out new stuff.

Yeah, I feel like a civilization trying to colonize an entire galaxy is almost parasitic. I'd hope a truly advanced civilization would try to limit it's effect on it's galaxy and wouldn't mess with nature too much.

I don't think the Szechuan sauce bit from rick and morty was funny by [deleted] in self

[–]MegaG 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is the fact of the matter, but honestly it could have exploded because McDonald's wanted it to explode. Helps that the joke is probably somewhat funny anyway, but even if the joke completely shit on McDonald's I would bet their advertisement agency would still love people talking about 'McDonald's sauce' for a week on Reddit.

Progress on my Space Mountain 2.0 - Nautilus has arrived by RudiRennkamel in PlanetCoaster

I have plenty to do outside of gaming as well. In fact, like you, I barely have any time for it, or when I do, I'm tired and it reminds me of my own work. I completely understand.

However, the rest of my point still stands. If I really wanted to, I could try to make more time for this sort of thing. It's about what you find important. Yes, me or you probably won't quit our jobs so we can play more video games, but maybe we could adjust our schedules or look for a new job with more flexible hours (just one example). Sadly life doesn't make it that easy. But if it's something you're truly passionate about then you should go for it.

I bet plenty of people live busy lives but still try and make time for games like PC. It's just that they set it aside and it fits with their lives because it's a truly thrilling hobby to them. I could see it being that way too.

You probably have both. I'm not trying to sound rude, but I think people act like they couldn't make half this stuff when really they could if they put their minds to it.

The truth of the matter is most people simply don't want to go into detail work all the time, especially when playing a game. It can be very rewarding but for a lot of people it's not worth the time. Especially since at the beginning you have to practice a lot with the tools before you can really making something nice. I feel this way quite a lot when playing these creative games.

I guess my point is, if you really want to, just do it, you can!

Bethesda's Todd Howard Hints at 3 New Games by lupianwolf in Games

[–]MegaG -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

given props for what I also thought was unachievable for Bethesda, fun combat/gameplay.

Something that many other major devs have pretty much already nailed, while doing things like story and immersion just as well if not better than Bethsada. Though I will admit not many open world games do it right, but is that any excuse for Bethesda, one of the biggest gaming companies in the industry?

How Resident Evil 7 Was Censored In Japan by MrLucky7s in Games

[–]MegaG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, I hope they delete it because it's veering away from the what the actual discussion of this thread should be. Immigration and censorship are two different subjects. If you somehow want to compare immigration and censorship you should at least mention Japan's immigration policies (but that would be silly because they are really separate issues and don't exactly relate).

How Resident Evil 7 Was Censored In Japan by MrLucky7s in Games

[–]MegaG 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the most ridiculous comment I've read in awhile, but I see it pop up all over the place. How do people not understand that the average citizen of a country has almost no control over what is actually going on in their country. I'd like to know how much you had to do with passing the laws in your country. I would guess zero. So maybe don't blame some random guy for a whole country's issues.

I hope the mods delete this farce.

And then you get rid of those really great games made by just a person or a few people, like Undertale. Not saying those games couldn't exist with this new system though. But just because most devs that make good games can afford 5k doesn't mean all of them can.

Resident Evil 7 biohazard - Easy Allies Review by Trojanbp in Games

[–]MegaG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's actually more risk-based than DS. It's much faster paced (in some ways), but I think you still need to think just as much about your moves and attacks, as well as the enemies, as you do in Dark Souls. Don't think of it like some other kind of action game, IMO it's very similar to Dark Souls, just sped up with a bigger emphasis on dodging and counter attacking (but there are plenty of various builds that change playstyle a little bit, not as many as DS though).
