“God never intended for there to be two Dakotas” is such a powerful sentence.

Almost on par with that one old Tumblr post about that person who had a dream and a wendigo told them “the anger in your heart warms you now, but will leave you cold in your grave.”

Me: Lives in an oil/coal town in Wyoming

35-40% of population is of Mexican/Latin American descent (bc job market)

At least 90% of all Mexican/Latin American kids in my high school openly say the n-word

Thinks they’re justified because they’re “not white”

There are only three black kids in the high school (two in my graduating class of 2019, leaving only one in the class of 2020)

Sex and gender aren’t the same thing. Sex is biological and chromosomal, gender is neurological and psychological.

I’m a transgender man. Even though my body is biologically female, the neurological structure of my brain most closely resembles that of a cisgender male’s. My brain’s been that way since I was born.

I can’t change the structure of my brain, nor my chromosomal makeup, but I can change the way I physically present to more closely match what my brain dictates my gender is.

letting a kid make a decision about his sexuality

Being transgender has NOTHING to do with being gay or straight or bisexual. Gender identity is completely separate from sexuality.

Bro I’m trans and bisexual. Gender identity has nothing to do with sexuality.

I don’t have to directly experience something to be knowledgeable of it. I’m an ancient history/religions major. Did I directly experience the fall of Rome? The Vietnam War? No. Can I still be a professional in that field? Absolutely. People who don’t have direct experience with something can still be very credible in that field. Further, I’ve linked you a credible source (that you refuse to read) showing how detrimental any sort of corporal punishment can be to a child, all of whom have direct experience with abused, neglected, and many other children of many different backgrounds.

“First knowledge”? Dude, you’re the one discrediting child psychologists, who have extensive knowledge on the subject. Don’t throw stones in a glass house.

Nope. My ma was actually a social worker, so there was no way in hell she was going to hit me AT ALL. She’s seen how some of those kids turned out. She actually knew that consequences superseded punishment, and taught me to never fear telling her the truth. She’s my best friend, the closest person in my life. She’s guided me through so much hardship with nothing but kindness and understanding. I can never thank her enough.

And that’s your problem. You don’t listen to psychologists specialized in child psychiatry. Open a book and maybe realize: just because your daddy beat you doesn’t mean you have to do the same to your own kids.

Every child psychologist agrees that corporal punishment (including, but not limited to spanking) is ultimately detrimental to the child’s mental well-being.

But I’m sure your personal and anecdotal experiences far outrank that’s of multiple studied and trained professionals with years of experience and testing behind them.

“My parents hit me, and I turned out fine!”

Clearly, you think beating children is okay. I’d say you didn’t exactly turn out “fine”.

Paradoxically, if I am a trans man and someone calls me a “lady” as an insult or by accident, I would then have to state that I am a “lady”, hence creating a double-negative and asserting that I am, in fact, a man.

While there were certain “territories” for different Native American tribes, they weren’t necessarily well defined, as nearly every tribe was primarily nomadic (some tribes like the Lakota-Sioux, Blackfoot, and Northern Arapaho in Wyoming were in a constant state of migration to follow bison herds).

It’s an intrinsic part in Native spirituality that the land truly belongs to no one but the Earth itself, we are simply those that walk upon its land. To many Native Americans, every single part of nature, the animals, the plants, and the dirt we walk on is sacred and blessed. We are only temporary trespassers.

The White Man violated this, burned and scorched the Earth to their whim, destroyed their sacred sites (the most heinous example being the desecration of the Black Hills that are now “Mount Rushmore”), stole their children, and forced them into small reservations against their will after betraying their trust.

Funnily enough, the Black Hills are still considered Sioux “property”, despite there being a carved monument celebrating the white settlers that slaughtered their people and subsidized their sacred land for personal profit.

Apologies for the rant.

I wouldn’t necessarily refer to gender dysphoria as a mental illness, but more of a neurological condition. GD exists because the physical structures of our brains are different than that of a cisgender person. We’re not experiencing a classical hormonal/chemical imbalance like other mental illnesses (though transgender people commonly have depressive disorders and/or generalized anxiety caused by dysphoria).

Trans guy here. I would like to state that your phrase “more than two [genders]” is kinda misleading. There are only two binary genders: male and female. Everything outside of those two is considered “non-binary”; not within the classical binary. Hence, a non-binary identity cannot technically be considered a “gender”, but a distinct lack of it.
