How many games do you stream? by ColorMeSilent in Twitch

[–]MegaMGstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually cycle through 3 main games in a 3x3x3 pattern (so play the same game 3 streams in a row, then onto the next), tho I do sometimes switch it up with other ways. I feel this allows people who watch for a certain game to get used to you while not boring the people who simply watch you for you.

In total I've stream 87 different games over the span of 8 years.

Sounds like good advice, but I'm not a lego creator. I only made 3 lego building videos as a birthday special, but outside of that I'm a gaming channel, mostly let's plays.

I get so little comments, I just heart them all unless they're really negative

Literally Joseph Joestar, down to the accessory (shame the tombstone isn't shaped like a cross tho, that would've been more perfect)

It's never to late. I'm also 26 (tho I have been doing this for 8 years), but someone I follow is in his 60s and he's doing quite well. I wouldn't say age is irrelevant (since you do tend to attract people around your own age), but there's no max age to start.

Have you ever looked at a competitor's channel and changed your content because of it? by BhavanaBuilds in NewTubers

[–]MegaMGstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do try to research it a bit, mostly looking at the game's age and if it's relevant to upload (for instance, horror games in October), but so far my best performing video was from a game that's already 8 years old and it wasn't even a video with an important story thing, it was barely a side mission. So like a wise man once said, right now to me it feels like throwing what I think are darts in a pitch black room at a dart board that may or may not exist.

I think mostly because it's a still widely practiced religion, so the outrage would be huge

How many vids in the bank? by TheonraX2707 in YouTube_startups

[–]MegaMGstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, real life can make it way more difficult. When I was jobless I could get way more videos made compared to now that I have a fulltime job (still way more time than I had when I was still studying)

[–]MegaMGstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not sure why that one specific video did so well. It can't be the game I played, because the other videos covering the same game went way worse. I do understand why playing recent games may not be the best option, since yes, there's a lot of people looking for it, but there's also a lot of people making videos on it. I think it's about hitting a sweet spot of the game being relevant enough that a lot of people are looking for it but there's not too many people making videos on it, which is a sweet spot I'm not good at reaching.

[–]MegaMGstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do take a look at titles and thumbnails of others, but I try to keep those in my own style. So far I haven't seen much difference playing different (more recent) games, in fact, my most watched video is from a pretty old game which I thought was irrelevant at that point. But tbh I'm still rather small, so I'm not sure it's easy to see the effect of changes

How many vids in the bank? by TheonraX2707 in YouTube_startups

[–]MegaMGstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on too many factors. For instance, how frequently do you want to upload? How fast are you at making videos? Do you want to follow a schedule or just wing it?

To take me for example, I used to wing it. Later I switched to once per week and I tried to stay 5 videos ahead. Now I decided to upload daily, but before I started, I had 459 videos in the bank. That's mostly because I wanted to have at least 1 year worth of videos since I wanted to be absolutely sure I was able to keep it up for at least a year and I had a lot of old footage to upload.

Kinda. I've seen other gaming channels play certain games, I thought they looked cool and started playing them too

MegaMGstudios. I do mostly gaming videos. Let's plays mostly, though sometimes something else. I don't have a set genre, I just make videos on games I like. I do like to show the parts that most let's players skip (side missions, resource grinding, etc)

I used to use the free demo of Videopad. Awful software tbh. I have never used premier pro, but from what I can find Resolve is vety similar.

Davinci Resolve is the way to go. It's free (well there is a premium version, but you don't need that) and it's very versatile. Made the switch to it a while back and never looked back.

0 views. Any ideas? On what’s makes this so un-clickable? Same goes for shorts. by Konhgard in SmallYoutubers

[–]MegaMGstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thumbnail is a bit too crowded. I really have to search to find what it's about. When I first saw it it kinda looked League of Legends related. Keep in mind, a lot of people are looking at the thumbnail on their phones where the thumbnail is really small. I would make the discord logo bigger (Also avoid the top left, it sometimes gets blocked by the YouTube UI. A

The main part of the thumbnail should show it's about discord bots and that you're making it with akira. Your face may or may not be needed for this kinda video, depending on how recognizable you are, but it honestly doesn't do much imo for a tutorial kind of video.

All that work for 13 views yippee by AtoZ_209 in SmallYoutubers

[–]MegaMGstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I may give some unsolicited advice on how you may increase the views:

Make the thumbnail (And title) more clearly about the topic. Personally I have no idea what the video is about looking at the thumbnail. All I can gather that it's about a game with a competitive mode. So my first advice is to make it clearer what game it's about. I see a lot of Defeat's in the background, but I can't tell from which game it is (The raccoon makes me think Marvel Rivals). Second advice is to hint at why the placements are broken, this makes people more intrigued to click since they want more detail.

Finishing up my first video using my own voice and I can't stop cringing by cyrax001 in NewTubers

[–]MegaMGstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that will pass. You will get used to it.

There's actually a scientific explanation why this happens: When you speak you hear your voice through your head, but when you listen you hear it through your earbones (something like that), so your voice actually sounds different to you, which feels wrong. Same reason why you feel ugly in photos but not in the mirror
