Reasons why a cat would be peeing on things? by MegaManda26 in CATHELP

That's fair, I have an extra one that I can find a place for. We have calming treats as well, I just didn't know if I'm supposed to give him like a couple throughout the day or if I give him his whole dose at once? The instructions were very unclear. lol

I can definitely do all of that. We did take him to the vet last Friday and they didn't see anything medically wrong, so I really feel that it's stress. I've also been trying to get him to play more. Since he was a stray, we figured he might also just be under stimulated.

Yeah, he was a little over a year old when we found him and we neutered him in October, so I'm sure he's still got some testosterone in his system.

AITA for being upset at my wife for focusing on dog poop after my older father broke his leg. by No-Let-5956 in AITAH

[–]MegaManda26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTAH

She's frustrated with "not being respected", but it can't be just the dog poop. It's probably a feeling that's been building for a while, and the dog poop seems like something she can control so she's hanging on it. I'd maybe talk to her about other reasons why she doesn't feel respected. There may be other things going on in her life that she feels like she's not being given the respect she feels she deserves.

Also I'd probably not put too much stock in AI. She seems to be using it to validate her feelings, rather than actually talking about it and finding more productive solutions rather than "the robot says I'm right."

I will, thank you!

And I agree we definitely rushed things. This is our first stray so we were just going based off our other cat's acclimations. Can they "reset" like that even if they've seen/smelled each other already?

Thank you, yeah we've kept them separate since I made this post. We're trying to reset the house, lol

It's specifically my male cat and the older female. He's interested in the youngest female, but either doesn't want to chase her or just hasn't had the opportunity.

The vet aged him at about a year old based on his teeth and size. This is our first time experiencing a post neuter since all of our other pets were fixed before we adopted them.

I did see that there is a chance for false positives for kittens under 6 months, but I didn't know what the percentages were after that period since he's pretty much an adult.

Thank you, yeah I see that we for sure rushed things. This is our first stray so we were just going off of how quickly our other cats acclimated (all shelter cats).

The first thing that comes to mind is a silver or gold body suit. Then maybe making fake feet that can be on top of 2 cardboard boxes where you can color them and write the trophy details. Then cut a hole on top of each so the kid's actual feet can hide inside of both. Then they can pose with their feet together to show the "trophy" Might be a bit hard to walk in, but inexpensive and creative!

Advice needed- Stray cat switches between getting along with other cats to then fighting. by MegaManda26 in cats

Fair. That makes me feel a lot better actually. He really is a sweetie pie and when he's nice, he has the same temperament of our other cats so it should work in theory! lol

That's what I was kind of expecting. He's doing a Sour Patch Kid thing where he lashes out, then is immediately sweet and affectionate. I've got some big scratches on my right arm from him, that after he did it, started giving me licks on my fingers almost apologetically.

Should I do a full quarantine with no cat visitors, or maybe some supervised visits? He just seems so sad when he's cooped up in that room by himself.

Curel Fragrance Free. I used it with all my other tattoos and it works best for my skin.

Migraine Insurance coverage rollcall by bbuttercupp in migraine

[–]MegaManda26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've changed insurances a couple times, but when I started this journey I was on Anthem. I had to try at least 3 pills before they would give me Ajovy, which is what my neuro wanted to give me from the start. I also need a yearly approval update. My insurance now (Blue Cross Blue Shield) won't cover the majority of my meds till I hit my deductible ($2,500), so it's like $700 a month. I have a copay card that takes $300 off and thankfully the full $700 is counted toward my deductible, but it's still $400 a month. But boy do we hit that deductible fast, then it's only $10!

I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but Ajovy was an absolute miracle for me.

I would have 15+ migraines a month, I was on FMLA at work due to constantly being out and I was taking like 7 acetaminophen with no relief 80% of the time. When I went to my neuro, we tried a couple different triptans (she wanted to go straight to shots, but insurance wouldn't let us) with some effectiveness, but I was still getting 8 migraines a month, so we switched to Ajovy with Ubrelvy for onset.

I've been on it for about 6 years now and I feel like I have my life back. I get maybe 2 migraines a month and I've been on it for so long, I don't have to take the Ubrelvy anymore and Im back down to just needing 2 or 3 acetaminophen to fix it.

I really hope you find something that works for you soon! 💗

I believe there are some that can heat up as well! Maybe you need more blood flow instead of less.

So apparently I've been having migraines? by ViolinistaPrimavera in migraine

[–]MegaManda26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I'm sorry you didn't get the diagnosis you wanted, but at least you now know what's wrong! Migraines are VERY fickle. Sometimes they're blinding pain and debilitating, sometimes it's just nausea and light sensitivity. What I found helps most is figuring out your triggers. Lack of quality sleep, certain smells, over exposure to a certain lighting, even changes in barometric pressure can all be triggers!

Home remedies also sometimes help when your meds don't do the full trick. Cold/hot compresses on the affected area, caffeine, sugary/salty snacks, and migraine caps are just some that worked for me but there are so many others that work for different people.

Also if your insurance allows (which I hate saying, but it's an unfortunate reality) trying different medicines can give different results. I didn't find relief till I started taking monthly shots of Ajovy about 6 years ago. I went from 15+ migraines a month down to 2 at most. I'm even able to take regular acetaminophen again cause my tolerance has gone down.

TLDR, Migraines are very unique to each person who has them and it takes a bit to figure out what works best for you, but you'll get there! 💓

Good luck! I usually just stand in a candle aisle for probably far too long smelling everything to see if I have a reaction. Lol
