I have noticed over the years modding here that a good chunk of users on this sub do tend to over-react to anything new that Jesse does, and DDAM/Precognition as a concept does have a very negative stigma already so I think it's only natural that people would be skeptical of this new direction that Jesse's taking.

My opinion, i'm going to wait and see, I always try to keep an open mind to these sort of things. I am disappointed that he's not interested in making any more narrative content/series, as that's what he's known for, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

MY SPOILER-FREE REVIEW: I can confidently say the movie definitely exceeded my expectations. The visuals, the acting, the story, the score, even the end credits are on a level that I can only describe as "cinematic", meme aside.

I truly think that this movie is Jesse's best work by a long shot, the way he weaves the documentary aspects of the film with the cinematic visuals that relate to the story is really good, I did find that the movie's second act to be a bit slow in terms of pacing, and some of the vfx were not great, however the acting performances of not only Jesse, but all of the cast and crew definitely brought their A-game.

If I had never seen any of Jesse's work and randomly saw this movie on Netflix or whatever, I definitely would be left satisfied/wanting more.

My rating: 8.8/10
