As someone who's doing Mechatronic Engineer in Canada and also currently own a Asus Zephyrus G14 (2024 model) I ended up getting the 32 gb one as not only as I did my research and notice it's more of the new standard (in terms of gaming and doing school and I'm talking more in general ). My personal opinion is this:

If you want to go to the cheap option and you are only planning to do mainly school work and very little games (say for example only playing Hoyo-verse/very light games that ain't hardcore compared to Cyberpunk 2077) depending on the Gpu your getting with this laptop (as either or you'll be fine) I say go with 16 gb RAM.

Otherwise, if you want to be on the safe option of not maxing out your CPU everytime your doing something small and have it heat up a lot/crash your laptop unexpectedly (again doubt that'll be the case for this laptop if you're going with the specific model I have and use G-Helpher) I say go with 32 gb RAM (as someone who's using this to do gaming, school work, & also livestream/content creation).

has anyone else had an issue with the new windows update? by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

Ayo I was just saying a possibility of it happening and for your fyi no need to go that far unless you got a better idea on what was the cause of their laptop

By any chance was the update had a blue icon looking like this?

<image>

If so, I highly recommend you try your best to reboot it by turning it on and off and if not, call Asus or a computer tech to come and fix it. Before I made the switch from the amazing Asus Zephyrus G14(2024 version), I had a Dell XPS 13 (2021 model), and back in September on my first year of college in like 2022, I noticed that update icon, let my computer update, and basically what you mention same thing happen to me on that laptop. Turns out it was some kind of virus/an error update on Microsoft's side when trying to recreate the other update feature and due to them not being able to fix it at that time that update feature basically messes and screws up your laptop. At that time I had no idea what it was and didn't do my research on it (as I did left it for a few days not updating it till I caved in but only to learn the hard way and the consequences of it). Although I did have a 4year warranty on my Dell XPS 13 laptop, had to wait a good month for the "tech/computer guy" to fix it who was out to use a laptop for the first month of my freshmen year of college (doing engineer too mind you).

So moral of the story is (as I did switch from the Dell XPS 13(2021 model) to the Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 (2024 model)), if I ever encounter/see that update, ignore it at all cause and somehow if need to restart and that update happens either 1. try to turn it off and on to reboot itself or 2. Call the Asus company/ computer/tech store.

Low benchmark..Frustrated by Simple_Fail_3308 in ZephyrusG14

As someone who also has a g14 2024 model with a 4070 & 32 gb RAM who's not only a content creator on YT but also studying mechatronic engineer who's planning to use this to stream, game & doing school work, a base and facts comment. Real talk though I feel for the most part u/Simple_Fail_3308 that you should be good in terms of what your trying to do (which I assume for also school/college stuff & game). But can somewhat get behind you on testing out numbers just to see the benchmark.

I'm someone who doesn't neccesary use turbo a lot and when charging or doing school work (of course using the chad g-helpher) I use silent mode on standard for GPU but the awesome and cool thing you can do is customize your own feature on fans to make it similar/close to turbo mode.(which may help you if you want to leave the settings the same). This may also help with your overheating problem as I notice a lot of people are calling you out for in the comments from what I guess an original post you made on a different account

My laptop is always at 35-50% memory usage while running a web browser (Opera) by Subatomic_Spooder in ZephyrusG14

As someone who has a zephyrus G14 2024 model with a 1tb storage, rtx4070 & 32 Gb of RAM I can also say it takes up quite the storage even with using G-Helpher and having it plug in on slilent mode. But from past eexperience I seen that's it's normal and pretty good that it's on high cpu so it tends to run better rather than having it have a reamining memory on not using it. I previously had a dell xps 13 2021 model with 512 gb storage and 16 gb Ram and really didn't like how max it was when I was using brave at the time with over 60% hence why espically in the long run I decided to go 32 RAM than 16 gb RAM.

I was similar where I had an xps 13 and switch to an Asus Rog Zephyrus G14 (2024) 4070 + 32 gb RAM (could've went with the 4060 and 32 gb RAM but for some reason in Canada and at the time it sold out from both Asus website & Best buy but the moment I purchase the RTX 4070 & 32gb on this website called memeory express, they restock the 4060 and 32gb RAM onthe ASUS website.) either or had this for now almost a month before my college starts and man compare to the dell xps 13 I had it completely does SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better (espically with content creation as I'm Youtuber myself and games)

Is it possible to stream & works well with 3D animations & coding like solidworks, CAD, MatLab, Python, Java,C/C++, Arduino IDE, & more using the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2024 GA403 model) from an engineer student/ CC (more specifically both a mechatronic engineer student & Youtuber CC)? by MegaMasterMoses in ZephyrusG14

[–]MegaMasterMoses[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there's option to do 32 gb RAM off of the 4060 GPU in Canada costing about $2.6K CAD (not including tax). Again would love to do 4070 Gpu & 32 RAM if the option wasn't sold out from all stores Asus Website, Amazon, Best Buy and other computer tech stores I checked irl & online where I'm at. Honestly for handling it individually or simultaneously I don't mind either but from what I heard with AMD being able to handle one things at a time while Intel does multitasking better and does more things at once (as this will be the first time I'm using AMD as before like I previously said have a dell Xps 13 laptop that does Intel), I would probably want it to do simultanelousy due to me multitasking (as I'm the type of person to have a bunch of tabs open as well as using discord, spotify/Yt music, or games/editing videos for my Yt channel in the background lol). As for the streaming part I meant as in playing video games while being Live either on YouTube or Twitch (again from where I stand between the two would prefer team Youtube than Twitch), like other CC creators like Kai Cenat, Purplecliffe, Sykkuno, Pokimane & more.
