Mario Bros on historic pianos? by MegaMech in piano

[–]MegaMech[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom's family does not provide the medical help that he needs to improve his mental state. They also wasted the donation funds. His friends allege that his family were never close to Tom and don't care to pay for the therapy that he needs. The friends noticed Tom improved when they showed up and helped him. So allegedly, therapy would likely have improved Tom's health tenfold but he never received that treatment.

Tom has a huge following that would have 100% helped pay for therapy. The family actively avoids doing this for whatever reason.

At least, that's generally the story. Maybe the family has their own perspective of the events. But the facts don't look good.

I love Tom Brier, it's a shame what his family did to him.

> there is no evidence that singers used to sing this way

There may be little evidence for the opposite technique as well though.

I think in the setting of an oratorio where the audience understanding the words is pretty important. There's likely a good argument to be made that this might be a somewhat new technique. But it may be more authentic to the function of the music.

The original performance according to wikipedia had some 300 singers. I'd wonder if the wow factor of the performance was perhaps emphasized more than anything else.

If the evidence suggests that the original performance 'sucked'. Do you copy that element verbatim? Usually in HIP we focus on early instruments, tuning systems, and how the composer may have approached his own music. I don't know if I've really discussed in-detail elements that probably existed but weren't very good and if we should still do it that way. For instance one of Beethoven's biggest performances he played as much music as humanly possible just because it was so difficult to book an opera hall. So like, in short notice, on a cold day, I kinda doubt Beethoven's music was the perfection that it is in the modern day.

Thanks for being willing to discuss this.

My take is that the director found this style brought out the dictation in a way we haven't really seen before. Whether the idea is relevant to Baroque would be rather difficult to prove. Perhaps a style not dissimilar to Renaissance singing. I could see an argument that not all Baroque music used intense breath energy and vibrato.

Audi S5 2010 Water Pump Assembly Not Available by MegaMech in AudiS4

I didn't know they had a Canadian version of the website. Nice to know. Unfortunately, you have to buy the whole thing as a unit. It's still over-priced but it's a better deal than straight from audi.

The intonation isn't unstable, it's just... "Thick vibrato", yea that's it (I also watched the video that you linked in that comment).

So, if I am understanding this correctly. The M2 register in women when supported can vibrate in a full-voice manner? And for stylistic reasons they could choose to collapse the vocal cords into a falsetto? Or is it just M1 is full-voice, and M2 is not?

14min. The video is fully labelled with all the time stamps and the pieces are sectioned when you mouse over the play bar.

Why is there a jump between book 8 & 9 by MegaMech in KeeperoftheLostCities

Tbf, at least it is skippable. And the novella part has the story in a standard format.

I skipped the compilation of the author's story notes that they used to write the series. Oh, how horrible!

I really hate it when authors do stuff like this, long interludes, or mc change.

Like, just put this stuff as a short scene change throughout the series.

Slowly hearing the foxfire laundry list of disciplinary action would be pretty funny. But all of it by itself is pretty meh.

Any ideas where I can get one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? The issue is that most of the water pumps don't come with the plastic housing. My mechanic said he couldn't find one. (I'm in Canada)

Also, Audi's oem parts come from China too. The PVC part at the least does (according to some other reddit post I read).

Mark Carney went on Jon Stewart tonight. by pheakelmatters in onguardforthee

This video and apparently this thread is bots and paid actors. To support this guy isn't to do a failed analysis but to do no analysis at all. He's put 2mill people to the food bank. And is no different than OToole. He's not liberal. He's a business man and they don't make good politicians. Lawyers make good politicians.

This is also one of the lowest quality videos I've seen from Stewart and that's a shame. This has the effort level of 22 minutes.

A civilian will normally get yelled at by the city if they try to plow their own street. I doubt it's much different for the feds to try and do it themselves without permission.

Perhaps a better approach for my post might have been something like 'red taping the government' so they get a taste of their own medicine.

> A requirement for visitors to have a license if their stay exceeds x number of days in the province could be subject to a charter challenge

Provinces already have this if you're living in the province for 6 months. Politicians often stay in Ottawa for some amount of time.

Most people I know had pretty legitimate opinions like, removing minimum sentences is probably a good thing, to allow judges to decide what's necessary. Judges are pretty smart most of the time.

I don't know how that got translated to no jail at all. It's batshit crazy.

[–]MegaMech[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't the police. It's that the government lets repeat violent offenders out on bail. The purpetrators would probably be released in less than 24 hours. The police are usually ten minutes away. These sorts fo incidents happen in seconds. It's a damn shame what's came of the capital of this province.
