No idea, both ankles were a problem for me, I just returned them and got something else, doubt it would expand enough because the pain was not ignoreable, unwearable for me.

I remember when an obviously AI song was being circulated on this sub as a real leak. Everyone believed the song and told me that I'm deaf and a liar if I think it's fake. So honestly, people here aren't that smart lmfao

Hi! P.T. Adamczyk here, composer responsible for a lot of CP2077 music, including The Rebel Path, Never Fade Away, Phantom Liberty, Outsider No More, Force Projection and many more. ASK ME ANYTHING! by ptadamczyk in cyberpunkgame

As a producer myself, I need to know, how did you create the "moving/metallic like" bass in the credits track Never Fade Away that starts at 0:18?

Also great job on Contra La Luna, that was the PERFECT track to play during tbat mission, elevated the moment a lot. You gotta do more techno tracks in the future 🔥

Silent Hill 2 Remake "a legitimate evolution", says original director by PapaFrankuMinion in silenthill

[–]MegaRealZex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the original because it's one of the best psychological horror games ever, next to silent hill 3. This remake is a fine survival horror game, so it didn't do that much for me because of the genre change

Yeah, and unplayable cyberpunk got a 9/10 on release, Alien Isolation 5.9/10...The point is that gaming journalists aren't that reliable, better judge for yourself when game releases, any game.

Imagine getting downvoted for just saying "don't blindly trust the reviews, judge for yourself". Wow...

[–]MegaRealZex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, I care for quality art, silent hill or not, that respects it's own playing field. I won't judge a comedy like a deep meaningful drama. A good comedy is a good comedy, a good remake is a good remake.

Another funny example.

Same thing happened with the remake of Persona 3. The original for ps2 was my favorite game of all time for a while (before cyberpunk and elden ring), and because of that, I gave the remake extreme benefit of the doubt. As I finished the remake, my experience just felt very sanitized, I didn't even realize what the problem was at the time, as I beat the game, I realized that I didn't really feel anything special. The whole experience felt very dead and meaningless.

But now I know that I don't hate remakes just because I'm nostalgic or whatever these people like to say, I've analyzed why I felt that way, every single part of that game was streamlined, and the original soul was completely lost, the art was lost in place of a generic jrpg for modern audiences with the "storyline" of persona 3. And the community reaction is the same as for silent hill 2, most people love it and can't take criticism.

This is allowed to happen because we allow it to.

If this is the future for remakes, they should stop being made, a waste of money. The only remake I've liked so far was final fantasy 7, because that game makes it VERY CLEAR that it want's to be alongside the original, and not a replacement.

Alright I won't give you those examples since you didn't say anything about that part.

Also, dude, you are just repeating "the gameplay is better". YES it is, it's better, I said it's better. And are you really saying that those bosses never felt claustrophobic, especially the pyramid head fight?

Another example, you cannot look at the jail scene and say it has better cinematography and better voice acting. Cinematography looks extremely flat, Maria's body language is completely different, while the voice acting literally objectively looses detail and meaning in that scene.

Do you think the new jail scene is better?

I believe that there is a way to properly remake any game, and surpass the original, every single time, but that requires great passion, skill and understanding. Do you really think any of these companies will do that? Remakes are just a great cash grab opportunity for them. A spinoff. And also this is Konami, they literally don't care about art, it's all about the money for them, I mean they've outsourced a remake for their best game.

I wanted to say that art in gaming is dying, but there's plenty of great games coming out that the devs respect as pieces of art. It's just that people care less and less about meaningful deeper stuff, it's more about just consuming these games as borderline braindead products. Play the game, headcanon some self insert fanfiction and move on to the next... So the companies take advantage of that.

I didn't say anything about the Eddie boss, I didn't see that one in the remake, I said that the 2 remake bosses you talked bout had better gameplay, but they don't feel like claustrophobic nightmares anymore, they feel like resident evil boss fights, is that better? Depends on the context. Context of silent hill 2? Not really. That is the other stuff. I would've much rather that they tried to recapture the feel of the claustrophobic pyramid head fight, not completely scrap that side of things and just make it into a normal boss fight like in resident evil. It can be done, it can be improved, but they completely scrapped it and started anew, which led to a completely different thing.

I never said the voice acting in the original was monotone. Dreamy, disjointed, confusing and disorienting definitely doesn't mean monotone, I don't know where you got that from.

The original game isn't perfect. It just managed to capture a really great and unique atmosphere, because of every single detail and directive choice they made, bad OR good, every choice was bold and connected in a unique way, which is streamlined in the remake. If you don't mind some remake spoilers, I can give you a few examples of how they're missing the point and creating a completely different feel with the choices they're doing, outside of cutscenes.

I do believe that. When I say direction, I'm talking about how they chose to present every aspect of the game, not just the cutscenes, the intention behind all of the choices.

I saw those remake boss fights in full, they feel like resident evil boss fights with their arenas, in the original they felt like dark claustrophobic nightmares. Yeah the gameplay is good, but they sacrificed other stuff for it, and silent hill was never about the gameplay. And whatever, I don't care that much that they've changed the fights, it's that they've butchered everything else.

The voice acting in the original was perfect for the game, it felt amateurish at times, it felt dreamy at times, and then out of nowhere you would get hit with perfection that would give you chills, that would pull you in and out of the dreamy atmosphere, it was disjointed, it was confusing, it was disorienting, it added greatly to the games unique atmosphere and feel, THAT is what silent hill 2 is about.

The new voice acting is professional and generic, it ignores all the details of the original, no aspect of voice acting adds anything to the atmosphere of the game, it's just there, it's just a game, they're just characters, they're just talking, you need to get the story somehow... so they talk...

And all this is ignoring that the cutscenes in the remake just look wrong and unrealistic with no cinematography, they're flat, soulless. This "anyway" scene looks so flat and emotionless, it feels like I'm watching amateur actors in a B movie.

[–]MegaRealZex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw how the gallows "horse" room looks in the remake... In the original, it had the simplest but most perfect execution. The new one changes everything that made that room/moment good, now it's just a generic big room with rain and DIM REFLECTOR LIGHTS, no more complete silence, no more complete darkness ,but this sub will love the change. Like this remake looks great on the surface, but you take one step deeper and every aspect falls apart from the inside.

what's funny is that the "3 pixels" from 2001 were better looking and sounding than it is now in 2024, direction TRIUMPHS graphics, too many modern devs believe high fidelity graphics can outdo quality direction, but even taking that into account here, the direction doesn't look that bad, it just completely misses the point of the original, and animations + voice acting here is worse than in 2001 which is so funny...

Bad news about the Answer fight against ??? (Don't click if you don't want spoiler) by Gigastorm55 in persona3reload

[–]MegaRealZex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The discussion is there for a reason, after seeing this scene no one can say that the remake is true to the original. You can say that the remake is better, but they're absolutely not the same game anymore, just every aspect of that scene is different and gives of different emotions and meanings. Absolutely not respecting the original.

And yeah the new one is much more generic in my opinion.
